Hello everybody, I'm new to these forums. I'm 22 years old and have always been very thin. I have started to get into putting on some mass and bulking up. I plan on working out 3 days a week (Mon, Wed & Fri) and allowing my days off for rest. However, I'm not very certain on what parts of the body I should be working on the days I'm working out. Should I go full body everytime I work out or dedicate each day to upper or lower body? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance! ;)

Its good youve kept away from the trap of working out too much. 3 days a week is a very good way of doing things, that way you can fit in a days rest between each day you workout.

Good on ya for that!

Putting on mass is largely about eating a lot, but your program does have quite a lot to do with it also.

Check out the stickies at the top of the training forum, theres a lot of information up there if you havent read already.

Basically just get a good selection of compound movements, maybe one or two isolations in there if needed.

Read the stickies!

I would do push/off/legs/off/pull/off/off.....stick to big compound movements like bench, squat, military press, rows and dead lift for the bulk of your workouts

why is it so much better to work 3 days a week suppose to 5

for a noob, you need all the rest you can get, I've worked out for 10 years on and off. I've been going pretty strong for the last 2 years, and a 4 day routine beats the shit out of me!

also, unless your on some kind of gear your gonna be overtraining with a 5 day routine, IMO!

because you grow outside the gym when your muscles are recovering

More time for recovery. 3-4 days a week is optimal in my opinion.

Full body, upper/lower, or push/pull - all good stuff.
