I 've read that drinking tea is good 4 u, it counts as part of your daily fluid intake and is a good antioxidant, I really enjoy my cups of tea but u guys see any harm in having 3-4 a day.

I take s splash of skimmed milk and 2 sweetners with it.

Cheers.

I've heard that tea stains your teeth worse then coffee. Tea also tends to have more caffiene vs. coffee. I always go for decaf.

Don't know about the staining, but Tea is on average at least 50% of the Caffiene of an average cup of coffee.

yeah I know 4 a fact that tea has less caffeine than coffee, there's no cals in tea is there?

I realise I have to take the cals with the milk into account but like I said I only have a splash.

Tea is acually good for your teeth. It is a source of flouride, protecting against cavities etc.

No harm...quite the contrary (that is, if you're talking about green tea.) Most research was done with the equivalent of 5-10 cups a day. Does this mean that less will not do anything? Not necessarily, but if you are expecting the efficacy that you've read about in studies (ie for fat loss, increase in metabolic rate, and antioxidant protection), than you'll have to get the same amounts of catechins and antioxidants that they've used.

Also, keep in mind with green tea that you don't want it to get hotter than 80 degrees Celcius. The heat can destroy the polyphenols that are giving the beneficial properties.

Many teas do have more caffiene than coffee, it used to be an accepted rule that tea contained more caffeine than coffee. I am speculating here, but I think it was more applicable before starschmucks appeared on the coffee scene and the type of tea you're drinking factors into it as well.

If you're comparing caffeine in common tea with that of common coffee (the style that was drank 10+ years ago) I think you might conclude tea has more caffeine. The standard probably doesn't hold up when compared to a cup of starschmucks.

Hope that helps.

Hmmm, so 3 different opinions, 3 different answers. Which is right?

I drink 3-5 cups of green tea a day. It's great for fat loss...
