i am on a test cyp cycle (500 mgs. week) (not my first cycle) in my 6 week, i been feeling really hot on my face and ears, with my face red like i was in the sun all day. this been going on for a few weeks now. is this caused by raised blood pressure or what? and if so wjat can be done to control it? :hmmm:

P Rock you need to get your blood pressure checked regularly while on a cycle....chances are its your blood pressure causing your problem.....you can get meds for it, or start taking an AI or and anti E...chances are the high blood pressure is from bloat and water retention.....so first thing would be to get some idea how high your pressure is....that would be my first step...and I wouldn't wait long to check it...then I would get something for it.

Try a baby asprin every night before you go to bed. This will thin the blood some and could help lower your B/P.

First thing you need to do is take your BP regularly, like everyday. While the drug store automatic machines aren't the last word in accuracy, they will at least show if you are dangerously high. Test and especially dbol will raise your BP, so don't be too alarmed if it is consistently around 155/95. Any higher then that, you should seriously consider ending the cycle. Like Tough said a small aspirin can lower BP, but only slightly.

There are reasons why smart people 'cycle'. Having consistent high BP can cause strokes and worse, heart attack.

Hey JD I'm not so sure that a heart attack is worst then a stroke anymore. Man i have seen some weird people after a stroke. Not something i want to get involved with. :hot:

the asprin will help not only lower the BP but the thinning of the blood will reduce risk of stroking out.....blood pressure can stay high for short periods of time..like 8-12 weeks without a super high risk of something happening. I have aborted cycles due to high BP. Its the smart thing to do IMO.

Even off cycle I check mine daily....buy your own machine and dont be cheap about it....a machine is only worth buying if its going to be accurate.

just curious, which one did you buy?

if you could give a price for it too..... im kinda interesting in getting one sometime for use as well

First things first. If you suspected blood pressure I sure hope you checked it, because that can be an instant killer if you get caught at the wrong time.

I have a MABIS monitor model# 04-244-006. Their customer care help line is 1-800-622-4714. I called that to get the wall plug adapter so I didn't have to worry about batteries going dead. So I assume you can call that number to get info on their products and even order them from that number. My machine was about $100. That included the large cuff but you have to request that when you order it otherwise you get the standard cuff...and that isn't big enough for a big arm. Cuff size can make a big difference in the reading if you use the wrong size.

Damn you're scaring me Mudge. I'm ready to undertake a cycle here.

Its not going to go up as quickly as driking coffee or having a bad day will do it. Bad diets loaded with sodium, fast caloric boosts + gear though can definitely increase it quite a bit.

My point was far more along the lines of, stop going by the color in your face and go check your damn blood pressure.

wow I have to agree with that. I have a skin condition that makes me look like I have a sun tan all year long. So the color of your face is not always a medical problem solved by lowering your B/P

Some people lack an enzyme to properly process alcohol which causes redness of the face. There is another condition which name I forget, where it is permanent. Then there is one that I think is treatable by creme.

Bleeding from the nose is probably a much more reliable sign, or maybe a heart attack. Just go get tested, stop looking in the mirror for now.

well think goodness I don't look like rudough the red nose reindeer . Never had those little blood vessles popping from my nose like a lot of drinkers.

I was born with Eczema and unfortunately still have it and always will. Goes with the Asthma that i was also born with. Lucky me~!

my blood pressure is slightly high at times, mainly in the afternoon 130 over 80, 128 /80, 133/78 and so on, but my face and back of neck, feels like i have a feever hot as hell, check temp and temp is normal... is this normal on the test?

Rosacea is the condition I believe you are refering to.

Thanks FatCat, there you go.

P Rock 130/80 is not what I'd call bad, and it has nothing to do with having 'hot flashes' or anything like that. Maybe you are having a slight alergic reaction or maybe it has nothing to do with your useage at all, the only way to know is come off of it or look for other new things in your life that might be causing it (any 5 dollar hookers lately? ).

You are just at the very end of normal and at the very beginning of pre-hypertension.

http://www.medicinenet.com/high_blood_pressure/article.htm#toc1bp

High BP begins at 140/90.

Mudge 140/90 used to be considered normal....I would say that at least 50% of people in the US right now are above 120/80...what is considered normal pressure. I think the constant changes in blood pressure and cholesterol standards is some crooked shit having to do with drug companies wanting to push their drugs. I think a pressure of 140/90 is made out to be worse then it really is. I've been on meds for my pressure over a year now and its usually 120's/70's or low 80's. I actually felt better when it was higher. I hope the lower pressure is really going to reward me with a longer life and better chances of avoiding heart attacks etc..

This is rediculous. It's threads like this that prevent me from starting a cycle. :pissed:

BD, do you have high BP? If not, what are you sweating over? If so, get it in check first.

I'm sweating over having some predisposed condition that AAS will exacerbate.

I have heart palpitations sometimes. I had them like 99% more when I was overweight. Now I'm healthy, but I still get them sometimes, but not when I exersize, unless i take alot of caffeine. I had it checked out and nothing came out of it, but I still don't know what causes them, so I wanna be safe.

For those of you that are interested. You can find a decent sphygmomanometer and what they call an obese or thigh cuff (if your arms are bigger than 14") on ebay for about $21 delivered. I just bought one and the quality seems pretty decent.

When I was younger I was overweight and had an arrhythmia. I ended going to a cardiologist who strapped a 24 hour monitor on me to record my heart. I had to episodes with the recorder on. I went to specialist after specialist after that and they all found nothing. I was poked and prodded more than I ever care to be again.

In the end the doctors have no idea why, what, where, or when. Go figure...

At the end of all my cycles I have blood work done to confirm my health. If you're that concerned talk to your doctor about it. My doctor knows and he's been real cool about it.

If you take steroids its very likely that you will get higher blood pressure during hte cycle. You can take something like Arimidex or Nolvadex on the cycle to keep bloating down which should help control the blood pressure. The side effects of steroids are typically dose related....after that its all about a good diet. Monitoring your blood pressure is a very good habit to get into. After you stop gear the pressure will go down. The issue in this thread is someone that thinks they have high blood pressure...get it? Point is he should know steroids can cause hypertension so he should be monitoring it. Just be smart about it and you will be fine.

right now the only thing that I take is Lotrel....its a calcium channel block and an ACE inhibitor....it seems to be working well for the blood pressure but one of the side effects I am getting and hopes that goes away soon is gas, irregular bowl movements.....that is not so fun. It has got better so I think its going to get better with time. I have only been on it for a couple weeks.

oh right, well i hope that clears up, any opinions on this captopril?

I don't know much about captopril...I'll ask my good friend and get back to you....he is a registered pharmacist in 3 states....he is a brilliant guy.

I checked mine before lifting this morning and it was at 164/88. I'm 4 weeks into a test prop cycle and it's my first cycle. Any suggestions?
