Well he shouldn't leech off of taxpayers for the rest of his life. As soon as the trial ends, carry him outside and kill him firing squad style to make it quick and cheap.
Dont you guys have privatized prison systems over there? What a trap for the public to be stuck in a private prison where some areshole is making money off you being, and keeping you there at the tax payers expense.
A guilty murderer leeching off the tax payer equates to nothing in comparison to the thousands of people who are trapped in system for no other reason apart from profit.
One innocent person being put to death is a huge price to pay for the luxury of putting the guilty to death. It happened in my country and it was outlawed as a result. Im sure it happens in the U.S. more than people realise.
Edit: Point being is that the death penalty is too much power to the government and if it was simply about cutting costs then they could aim to make the prison system benefit the inmates and not torture by keeping them there for too long as punishment for a petty crime.
Ive been caught with a bag of weed and I got arrested on the spot and charged. I was sent to court where I pleaded guilty and got a $250 fine. The court case lasted about 5 minutes. I refused to tell the cop who I bought it from nomatter what he threatened me with yet he still gave me a lift home when we were done. The small town cop never bothered me again.
It blows my mind that if I was in the U.S. I could have been put in jail with real criminals.
