That gym buddy that think's he can keep up with you...

post pics of ur cawk and his and let us judge..............

A few weeks ago this young kid hauls me over the the leg press machine asking for a spot. I was severely pumped and looking sick. He has the machine loaded with like 14 plates per side. Looks like he stole every plate in the area. He then proceeds to do 10 of the worst range of motion presses I have ever seen. I told him "you lift too heavy and your range of motion is terrible". He just looked at me so I repeated it again. I'm hoping he never asks for a spot again...

When leg day rolls around, tell him your doing naked squats today and ask him for a spot. If he doesn't run; pull your pants back up and find another gym.

while wearing loose shorts smile and tell him "im not wearing any underwear!"

Start with incline and out rep the shit out of him. Problem solved. Also good to start with incline Dumbbells

So I've been lifting for about 18 years...not a pro or anything but not all that weak either...6ft, 235lbs, my max is 365lbs (3-4 reps)
My buddy is around 5'8", 220lbs...and his max bench is around 275lbs (3-4 bad form reps)
So after an exhausting bench session, we hop over to the incline DBP (My gym only goes up to 100lbs)...he tells me he notices he can keep up with me on the DBP...so I ask him how does he figure? He tells me he's able to bang out more reps than me once we get to the 100lb DB's...
So I tell him I'm fckn exhausted after the intense bench press...lifting almost 90lbs more.
I also mentioned that I noticed his form is a little sloppy, he doesn't bring the bar down close enough to his chest (elbows never hit 90 degrees).
I never see a reason to brag and Im no critic but was just curious if anyone else has ever had this hilarious experience with a friend and how did you shut them
up?

..As much as Deiseljimmy has begged , you may be my new partner ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

^ :roflmao:

how the fuck do you spot on the leg press
Stand next to the bar that holds the plates and assist by applying pressure on that bar in an upward plane. However in this case the bar was completely full of plates so I would have to had pushed against the weights.

heavy:crushing dreams since 1990

Why do so many people in gyms think that you have to bench 500 pounds and squat 1000.

Even if you have heavier weights but your form sucks, your gains will be decreased not to mention the possibility of injury is drastically increased.

The only competition i have when I am at the gym is with myself. I have my own personal goals and max and I try to out do myself. Not for the bragging rights but because I know if I am increasing in weight, my muscles are getting stronger.

Just a side note, I was just able to max out bench with two ten pound plates on each side. My new personal record. :)

Well you took the first step in the right direction OP... you started a thread on the internet about it.

^ dude u dont even lift, well except for putting up the bunny rabbit cut outs for mommy......

speaking of which, she over me yet?

I knew that trainer was full of shit when he said it was normal to stick his ass in my face and push up on the foot board.

sounds like ego boosting bullshit to me...can spot yourself hands n knees...other than that the dumbass should just take some weight off

Monday must have been skinny fat latino day in my gym.
These three guys weighing a maximum of no more than 160lbs apiece with no cuts were doing standing dumb bell curls, curling 35 lbs dumb bells max and putting their entire shoulders and backs into the move.
They were grunting loud and looking pleased with themselves when they did 10 reps with a 1/3 rom.

They then and I kid you not, went over and picked up a 50 lbs fixed bar and started to do reps.
They strained to get 12 1/3rd rom reps.

I completed an entire workout for chest in 45 minutes and these guys spent the entire time I did chest doing arm curls.

I thought what in the fuck do they even bother working out for.
They sure as hell are not going to build biceps like that.

I would estimate about 315 lbs too heavy at the very least. The guy legitimately had 6 or 7 too many plates loaded on the machine.

I watched a kid no more than 8-10 bench a little over a 100 lbs once...I was pretty impressed

my sig other kept trying to see if he needed a spotter..lil dude was all like "naw, if I decide to throw up more weight I'll give you a shout"..heh

kid had better form and ROM than 90% of the peeps in my gym

^^ no point , just throwin it out there

i hate training partners period they talk to much. i get pissed when people talk in the gym. If i want to gossip and bitch about things i come here. I go to the gym to grow not get sand in my pussy and be lil gossip queen. I have a few guys that i can go to for spots regularly and a few guys i jump in with often to hit some sets with and learn from (my mentors) but never do full workouts with them. My goal is to be in and out with in an hour and reach failure.

The nice thing is people avoid asking me for a spot because i will be a dick and make them push more reps and for some reason people dont like working out hard... There was a kid that started to cry because i wouldnt let him stop doing lunges. Forced every bit of energy out of him and he begged me to let him stop lol pussy kids dont know what a leg work out is.

I was just trying to impress you.

Guess asking for the hook up on some gears is out of the question.

Grew up/still talk to a "friend" like this, it's quite entertaining when I'm always ahead of the game though. \m/
