Unlike some, I am able to face the reality that Kerry has lost Ohio and thus the election.

The political landscape is such that now two branches of the government are fully controlled by one party and within a couple years third branch will also be controlled, to more lasting effect.

What this means is that we will see the republican agenda in full. There is no liberal straw-man to flog if the policies fail. No government-boogeyman to wave in the face of voters. If you fail, it will be because you are wrong in your beliefs about how to fix the problems of our nation.

I sincerely believe that this country is about to enter a very bad period of hate politics and divisive legislation. But I just as sincerely hope I'm wrong.

And lastly, you mfers better go get Osama. I think that's at least one thing we can all agree on.

Well said. Unfortunately Kerry wasn't strong enough to mobilize and energize enough of the Democratic base. Republican's will obviously see the election as a complete validation of their 4 years of policy direction. It will embolden the revolutionary Neocon element of the party and I dread to think about what they have on their agenda for the next four years.

That said, the fight will continue....

It's obvious over the last three elections, America has wanted to go more republican. The Democrats have lost their direction for their party and it was clear this time as most democrats voted against Bush and not for Kerry. The democrats need to re-think their vision. Still the republicans can't just ram their agenda down the democrats throats. I think things will improve even more during the next 4 years, God forbid we sustain another terroists attack.

We will get Osama in time. :thumb: Hell it took 10 years to get Eric Rudolph in the NC mountains.

I agree it is bad how the country has become divided. Not good.
 
John Titor says that the US enters civil war in 2005 :rocker:. This election result would be a good precursor to the beginning of that process. All it takes is a strong leader to stand up and fight against the government.

Very well spoken response DG. I agree with you. There's something wrong with the fact that people were voting "against Bush" and not 'for kerry'. Although, that is how campaign's are driven. "dont vote for the other dude".

Yes, the dem's need a fresh vision. The republicans could use one too. I think both should be constantly revising . The people change, especially in a melting pot society.

Once again though, I commend you on your well written response. Please grace us with the wisdom you have that leads you to beleive " things will improve even more during the next 4 years ". And expound on how our country's current economic state and the development of global hatred towards us from former allies has to do with " sustaining a terroist attack." What would you reccomend doing to solve these issues?

The trend is going republican. There is no doubting that.

Also, you have to admit, the majority of the vote for Kerry was really a vote against Bush. Next election, without Bush, you will see just how conservative the country is.

The Democrats today paid the price for having an unclear vision. They lost the presidency as well as seats in the house & senate. The only thing they did was bash Bush.. they never got their message across.

You recommend the Republican's to change their views. Why? Liberals are on the East Coast & the West Coast. The rest, besides illinois, are Red States. Why change something that is working & expanding?

New Mexico & Iowa have gone Red. African-American, Hispanic, Women for Bush all up in percentages.

This trend will continue. The Dems need change, not us.

If the republican candidate wins by 1-2%, and it's widely accepted that the youth vote didn't make it too the polls, why do you feel that "you" don't need to change:bulb:

thats assuming the youth vote was for kerry. We all saw how reliable the polls are.

& by the way.. the young people NEVER vote. this was not something new. The dems thought there would be this huge turnout by younger voters.. they were wrong. They were wrong about a lot of things, doesn't make it a plausible excuse at all.

actually the younger vote came out is record numbers, but they didnt expect that alot of them to split 60/40
