I just thought I'd share this cool experience I had at another forum I post on. One of the professional photographers at the mma.tv forum recently had a baby. A friend of his posted this;
"I was awakened by my wife, Joanna at about 9:10am on Monday morning. She was screaming frantically that she thought the baby was dead. He had been breastfeeding sometime before that, but she had dozed off. When she awoke, she found him completey lifeless with no pulse or breathing and he was totally unresponsive. His color was the ashen grey color that people get when they've been dead for a little while. I immediately went into "cop" mode and began chest compressions and cleared his airway to start breathing into him. I honestly thought at that time that he was already dead and my CPR efforts would be futile. But I continued nonetheless and we called 911."
He went on about the situation and how the baby was on life support at the hospital. Many of the fighters, fans, promoters, etc offered support and encouragement toward the family in the post. The friend printed off all the well wishers remarks and took them to the hospital and showed the mother and father. They couple broke down in tears from all the support and kindness shown to them.
The father came on the board and thanked us, and updated us on the babies condition. He's not in the clear yet, but the future looks bright.
I just thought this was a great positive real story about the power of words and friendship.
