One thing's for sure. All religions are NOT the same. Some are more peaceful and some are more caustic than others. Islam definitely seems to be the most vile and hateful of all of them. There sure seems to be a lot of religious tension these days; tension between Christians and Muslims, Jews and Muslims, and Hindus and Muslims. Not that there is any pattern going on here.

There's too much instant contact, everybody thinks their religion is "the one true religion" and governments, probably ours more than anyone else's, like to stick their fingers into everybody else's pudding and give it a good stir. Those are the problems.

I don't know how long these SOB's are gonna last. My father recently passed away, and he put in 33 months fighting for his country during WWII. If some bunch of idiots would have protested his memorial service, I'm really not sure what my reaction would have been. All my sympathy is with the victims these morons single out, and I'm frankly surprised that there hasn't been more of a violent reaction to this nonsense. I think it is only a matter of time.

I'd have been in jail.... My GF's grandfather was a Nisei soldier (American of Japanese descent) during WWII in Italy, he passed away in 2007 after I had cared for him everyday for his final 2. He told me all his battle stories, if anyone had or ever does say something negative about the hell he went through I'd smash their mouth until their jaw came unhinged.... I hate war, but I respect the men who fought them for us, even our Allies....I was in Sydney during Anzac day and marched in their parade, after my friends and I met these old Australian vets who took us to one of their homes and we had a huge barbecue, they treated us like kings out of respect for serving in the military....Such a showing of mutual respect...

Exactly. People who serve are due a ton of respect. When I saw this post it got to me because it immediately made me think of the sacrifices my dad and three of his brothers made during WWII, along with all my other relatives who fought in Korea and Vietnam. Not to mention the more recent skirmishes. I have no idea what the total is in my family, but the number is pretty high. I hate war, too, but I respect anyone who has ever put their time in.

I respect the Westboro Baptist Church for being willing to put up with so much abuse in order to get their message out there. They are the one's "serving" IMO. I hope they will continue to fight the good fight.
