I was out of the gym for a while...started to gain strength quickly and think I started lifting too heavy too soon.
I was doing a deadlift of 315lbs and as I pulled it up, I felt something kinda tear away. It was a strange feeling. It did not hurt at all. Then it got sore and showed bruising over the next 3 days. Think I took this picture after about 3 days.
I think I pulled or strained it tonight when I was deadlifting 275lbs. I'd done 295lbs weeks before and had no issues. However, this was the first time I'd used lifting straps and my grip was a bit wide. I think that contributed.
Questions...have any of you guys experienced anything like this? Is it possible a surgery could help? Should I just lower the weight and move the weight up very slowly over the next few weeks? I didn't feel any tearing sensation this time.
