im confused on whether or not i should let my arms rest until the soreness has gone away or just continue to work them out.

my workout coach at school says that its a good thing to work out when their sore and others say that i should let them rest.

i only get to work out 2-3x a week.

so should i keep working them out or let them rest?
 
I only workout 3 times a week.

If you leave a week before you train the same exercises again they wont be sore when you next come to exercise them.

Today my triceps hurt a bit, but i wasnt doing any exercises that actually used my triceps to any intense degree.

If you hit them hard enough you only really need to work out each muscle once a week.
 
I train through soreness frequently. It has never hindered my progress or lead to less than favorable results.
