how many mins.do you guys spend in the gym to get a complete work-out building mussle in mind?i have been told any more than 35mins is a waist is this true i feel its a bit short and rushed?

I take an hour to get in and out, that include warm up and stretching after, probably 20-30 mins in the gym actually lifting but depending on the program you follow you can take longer. I would try to keep lifting under 45 mins but everyone's different.

45 to 60 mins tops

55-60 minutes tops. More then that and I know I screwed around and didn't focus on what I was doing.

Shortest workout i ever had was 15 minutes, longest was 120 minutes. I'd say the optimal would be about 60 minutes though - especially on a regular basis.

I take anywhere from 60-120minutes.

It all depends on your body type (talking about ectomorphs, mesomorphs, etc)

You have to find out what your body type is, and if short rests and shorter workouts are better for YOU, or if longer workouts are better for YOU.

:lifter:40 min shot rest in between like 1 1/2 to 3 min top no cardio tho i'm light so i don't want to burn any more trying to keep as much as much mass as possible, lol:lifter:

45 min - 1 hr.
I realized I wasn't waiting long enough between reps on my heavy lifts.
(bench, squat, deads)

I lift for an hour or so. Depends on how long my wife's workout lasts.

45minutes to an hour for lifting and 30 minutes cardio. On cycle maybe 10-15 minutes longer.

60-90 minutes. Leg day is never done in an hour for me. It's at least 30 mins for quads alone, then 20-30 for hamstrings, and calves generally take about 15-20 minutes for 3 exercises. I take much shorter rests between sets than most people as well. I'll never wait more than 2 full minutes, even on the first movements of the day (Squat, Bench, Dead, Military Press, Cleans). Idk I don't see how guys get everything in in 30-45 minutes, but that's just me. I do more sets than almost anyone I've met, but I'm growin better than ever.

Just my oppinion on the matter. Not right, not wrong.

Hi,
I try to finish within 50-55 mins.
I read an article (in Ezine articles i guess) where it said that after 55 mins of lifting the body starts releasing cortisols which may break up the muscles so you would better start eating by that time.

Very intelligent post

it's ususaly an hour and half for me ..that includes doing my abs or calf muscles

i completely spend 1 hour on gym but so hard for me to lose weight.

I usually use around 45 - 60 mins, it all depends on how long breaks I take between sets

I do less than 20 sets, which equal less than an hour. If it takes me longer than an hour then I know my intensity level needs work or my partner(s).

About an hour here too. Unless you really feel like talking to cardio bunnies or something.
