I have read a lot about both sides of thinking, those who think going to failure is best for Hypertrophy, and those who think it is better to just stimulate a musclue rather than killing it. But I am intrested in what all of you think, and what has worked best for you. Thanks for any responses in advance

If you are a beginner...1 year or less of training...than failure is not necessary. As an intermediate...1-5 years of training...failure is not necessary on all sets, but at least on the last of each exercise. As an advanced trainee...5+ years...I believe failure is always necessary. Finally, if you've been at it for 10 or more years, than beyond failure training will be needed to further your gains!

This is very simplistic, as other more complex factors can come into play.
