I'm bulking and I'm probably getting 30g of fiber a day (all from whole-wheat products - bread and pasta). I think you're suppose to be eating 20-30g of fiber a day anyway, but I have a problem which deals with the bathroom. I don't know how to put this eloquently so I'll just throw it out there... its coming firing out of my ass and its getting to be very painful. Is there anything I can do to be normal without cutting back on the amount of fiber I'm consuming?

Increase in insoluble fiber actually helps with constipation and if you increase soluble fibers, there will be more water in the digested material. So it will be easier to go to the bathroom.

Its not constipation, its loose stools. I am getting quite enough fiber.

Oh when I read firing and painful, I thought it was the contrary of loose. Because I thought, firing was similar to fire.
How come it hurts? The design is quite aerodynamical.

i actually get in double that... its very hard to keep the fiber down if your eating lots of complex carbs and vegetables. The only thing to keep it in check is to drink tons and tons of water.

Soluble fibre:- essentially delays gastric emptying, slows glucose absorption and lowers serum cholesterol.

Insoluble fibre:- basically 'soaks' up moisture in the stomach and swells up in the process. Gives that full feeling and decreases intestinal transit time.

For starters, you need more fibre - about 40g a day. Use veggies (preferably green) as a source of fibre (also a good source of 'wet' carbs). Drink plenty of water (in excess of 6 litres a day).

I think you probably push too hard when shitting...I take a fiber supplement twice a day along with whatever I get from my normal diet and I shit just fine 4-6 times a day. :) Just drink lots of water and let it come out on its own...no need to rocket fire those puppies out of your bung!

I don't think so either, he was complaining about loose stools, not constipation.
