Those events os 1500, 3000, 10000 meters, are events that gives you a great cardio exercise, I think that the 10000 are not to good for a Body Builder, but what do you think about running 1500 or 3000 meters as a Cardio exercise? :thumb:

Iv'e been running an average of 4 miles for cardio...

But I'm keeping it down to like 3 times a week...

I feel good, don't think I am wearing my joints out too badly,
and have time and energy to lift (including leg and power stuff), eat and maintain my weight...

I'm not ripped, not gaining mass, but I'm getting faster and stronger - :thumb:

I used to be a long and triple jumper. ran the first leg of the 4x100 and also ran the 200m. I love watching track & field. It's pretty much all I watch during the summer Olympics
 
I have been trying to find time to try out for track and field. I did it once and ran 100metres in 11 seconds but that was my first time and been unfit at that point and also long jump i managed 5metres.

you ran 100meters and were unfit? The world record is like 9:77 for the 100 meters set this year (june 2005). At 11 sec. you are about world class pace (and defenitly up in the world class pace in the womens). Are you being serious with that time?

11 sec isn't that fast for a man. I ran a 10.8 in high school and I wanst even that fast compaired to the guys at state. My Buddy ran a 10.29 in college and that time was considered world class.

really, I would think 11 sec could take you pretty far if you did that and you were "unfit". What would happen if you were fit? You could shave 1-1.5sec off that time.

If he never trains and is out of shape and still can run 11 sec then he might be world class if he gets in shape and trains with the propper people.....but my guess is his buddy timed him so it could be 11.9 or more......you need a sanctioned meet to really know what your time is.

That's a nice time. I pounded out a 11.07 100m time 2 months ago. Aussie winter, so when it warms up hopefully I'll be in the tens. I could also run the 2.4k (~1.5 miles) in 7min 21sec. Apart from those two times, I never did anything remotely out of the ordinary on the track and field is just a no-go for me...
