I enjoy training, and train regularly. However, I am often disrupted by a problem I have with my elbows. Two years ago, I started suffering from tendinitis due to too much arm-wrestling at school.

The problem isn't serious, however occasionally certain activities such as football with friends, or throwing a ball can lead to the tendinitis becoming irritated for weeks. When this happens, it becomes very difficult to train to my maximum ability, without having to deal with excrutiating pain in either of my elbows, or both. Resting the elbows for several weeks can get rid of the problem, but I really don't want to lose hard-earned strength as a result of such a long rest period. So I was wondering if you could recommend to me a certain way of training that would be easier on my tendinitis, (On the rare occasion that it is agrovated by playing football, etc.) and also keep my strength? I can still perform excercises such as bench press, barbell curls, and most cable excercises without any problems, however most dumbell excercises seem to irritate it.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

You dont want to train while you have it, it could make it worse. What you need to do, is find what aggravates it.. and eliminate it from your things you do.

Tendonitis? Not really.. I used to get it from arm wrestling too. So I quit it, and it hasnt bothered me since. The best thing to do is ice the area. Or you can go to PT, where they use ultrasound, and massage :nanner:

Thanks. I was just hoping there were ways of fixing the problem, while still being able to continue training.

yes,, I will stop every thing in the first 2 or 3 months but after that, I think I can go to the gym 3 times aweek and can spend 30 minutes aday doing cardio at home while my wife lets say cooking or doing housekeeping. This is the reason why do I want to buy a cardio machine,

Thanks Pre ... both elbows are screwed. The right one worse then the left. If there was a procedure I would use it. I gave up arm wrestling for the same reason. It really sucks to see someone you know you can take strut around and let 'em off the hook doesn't it?

Yup. People always bug me too. I just keep saying no through all the trash talk :(

If it bugs you, have your doc write a scrip for PT. They really do wonders(im having some bursitis(sp) in my left knee worked on)

Yeah! I hate when there's nothing to do, and people start arm wrestling, and challenge me. I have to say no, even though I could easily win. It's great to finally talk to people who I can relate to.
