I know creatine must be drank with glucose, but since i ran out of glucose would it be ok to just use white sugar as a form of transportation

I can't answer that question because I don't generally follow the insulin spike or creatine usage.

What I do want to say is that I know many people use Dextrose. If you don't get dextrose then buy Smarties candies (not the Candian smarties but the US Smarties) they are pure Dextrose and would make a great sugar treat :lick:

don;t nee sugar to carry creatine in Take it about 15 mninutes prior before a meal Any food you eat is going to cause insulin spike

what? you mean the smarties up here are made of different ingredients?

Smarties in Canada are chocolate. Smarties here are dextrose. I think the Canadians call them Rockets?

:haha: You call them rockets?

Makes me think of Cartman on South Park: "Red Rocket!"

You can go to Bulk Barn and buy pure maltodextrin (for .50 a pound) if you're worried about sugar transport systems...don't bother with white sugar, it is refined and crappy.

No the Canadians call them Rockets

Sorry...when I said "you" I meant Americans...I'm Canadian. :p

i use maltodextrin or dextrose as a transport system for my weight gainers/creatine

either of them would be a good choice

thats wat im saying i ran out of those and i was wonderin if i cud use straight sugar

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
American Smarties don't have chocolate in them? Bizarre.

you can if you really want to eat suger, but like HAN pointed out creatine does not need to be eaten with anything sweet in order to get in your system. All the dextrose does is shuttles it into muscles right away. That's it. Suger will take a bit longer, but will still do the trick

thanx

i wouldnt use sugar personally, it will not convert to glucose as quick as dextrose or maltodextrin,, does not mean you have to go buy a barrel of dextrose, but like jodi said you can buy a pack of smarties or sweet tarts on your way to the gym for a buck and thatll be a weeks worth of post workout insulin spiking

in australia i dunno if we have these smarties or rockets or wateva u call em
i dont have post-workout shakes/insulin spikes anymore anywayz, so all i needed the glucose or multidextrin for was for a creatine transport, but as others have suggested i will probz just take the creatine on its own and then eat some food :)

Use Oats and whey, that is what I do.

how many sweet tarts would suffice to cause an effective insulin spike? right now im using gatorade powder, but i think sweet tarts would be more convenient for the times that im in a hurry

Sweet tarts? I have no idea what their made of.

I would stick with the smarties unless you know for sure that sweet tarts are dextrose. ;)
