I have been looking around lately and it looks like a lot of HRT clinics will not even see you unless you are 30. I am pretty sure that I have low testosterone levels. I just got my blood drawn and will get the results next week, and I expect that they will confirm that I have low test.

If that's the case, I'd like to start TRT. I know the risks involved. I have no interest in kids so that's not an issue. I'm wondering if anyone knows a good place for me to start. I don't really want to deal with an endo as I hear they can be a pain in the ass. I don't want a doc that will try to prescribe me some bullshit creams or prescribe me something stupid like 100mg biweekly injections. Are there any good clinics that will see someone my age?

TRT at 24, that can't be good

Find a clinic that specializes in it... At 24 unless your test is under 300 I doubt they will prescribe trt

At your age I am guessing the dr.s will probably perscribe androgel or something like that which is really expensive.

I don't think I have enough posts to send a PM. Might just be the app I'm using on my phone though. Could you send me a PM with your email or something so we can talk that way? Thanks a lot

Edit: actually I just checked and it's not the app. I can't send PM's

Its prob cause you don't have enough posts yet. I tried to send you one but it wouldn't let me.

I registered to this forum just for this thread. Was doing some research on trt and I'm also 24 years old. I know I have low T because I have all the typical symptoms, low libido, no energy, feeling foggy.

I've been reading about horror stories of people being prescribed doses that are just outrageous, like 100 mg every 3 weeks or 200 a month. That would make me feel worse than I already do and I know of people who say that the right clinics will put you on 200 mg a week of cyp and that would make me feel like I want. Being young, I want to be at the high end, not the low end of normal so I'm just trying to learn about where to go to get these kinds of doses.

Self medicate

Bad idea.

At 24, you should see a doctor in any case if you feel you have low T. Fine if you want to go on TRT at 35+ since your levels decline but there could be something serously wrong in your body if you have low T at his age. If you start to self medicate and ignore this for years you could end up very badly. Worst case scenario you have something like a testicular tumor or a hypothalamic tumor. There are of course a lot of causes for low T but these certainly could them. Get yourself checked up, if you end up being diagnosed with secondary hypogonadism and scans etc don't show anything you could think about self medicating TRT.

The reason I feel like I have low T is from my past heavy drug use, opiates can lower test, and the several oral only cycles I've run that seems to have shut me down.

Even if I can only get small doses, I know where I can get more test to supplement myself.

You can always try an aggressive restart. Google it up, find a protocol that suits you and give it a go. There's nothing to lose and you could win back your own T production.
There's people that have been on TRT for years and therefor shutdown for years who have come back after a restart. No matter what lengths you've been through, always a try restart before hopping TRT.

That isn't going to put me at an above average level like I want to be at. I know the goal of trt is normal, but I'd really rather just be on right now and go for the restart later.

I'm in the nashville area. I've seen where most people get around 200 mg a week if they go to the right clinic even if their levels are around 400. I'm looking for a place like that, even at 200, you're at the top end of normal, not just normal. I was an athlete growing up with an extremely high sex drive and made amazing gains in the gym. Then after my opiate addiction, it all went downhill and I can't stay lean without gear, I can't make gains in the gym, I have no sex drive, and I'm always lethargic.

At 24 you could still get high levels after a restart. Sure you're not going to be lingering at the top end of the reference range but you could still be mid-high. But in the end it's your choice brother, do as you please with the info you have.

I'm really trying to learn more. I know that it's a lifelong thing, but I really don't see myself ever wanting to come off test. I've used steroids in the past without going too high on the doses and that's what makes me feel like I should truly feel.

No one wants to come off test. Look up the risks of being on TRT, you could become infertile and they haven't studied real long term effects of testosterone administration. Pinning for another 50-70 years doesn't look too nice either. I was in the same boat as you (minus the opiates), heck I'm the same age. I'm almost done with my restart and bloods will show whether I've bounced back or not. If not, I might be heading into TRT as well but atleast I tried :)

I was on prescribed opiates for 2-3 years when I injured my back and I have a similar story as you. When I decided to get off, I went to my doc and he tested my test levels b/c he said long term opiate use can reduce your test levels. My first test came back in the mid-200s. I didn't think anything of it but he said my test levels may come back and that we would test again a year later. During that year I've had the same symptoms you did, low libido, no energy, moodiness and just low quality of life. Anyways, the year went by and he tested again and I was again in the 200's so I asked him to put me on TRT. He agreed and put me on androgel. After two months of that, I asked to switch to injections but I knew I would ask for injections anyways but I just played the game and used the androgel for a couple months. He put me on 100 mg a week of Test C. Been on it for exactly four weeks now and I'm getting bigger, stronger and overall quality of life is better, I'm emotionally more stable and sex drive is back. This is my regular general doc too. He deals with a lot of opiate addictions so I think he puts a lot of people on TRT so he has decent knowledge of it. Anyways, you are kinda young to be on it but if you want any guidance let me know. Just understand its a life long commitment.

I know it's lifelong and infertility is the only thing that bothers me. My fiance wants to have children yet I don't really care. I'm just trying to feel right and be above average in all aspects of life. I don't like feeling like I do.
