Should you really be concerned about the mercury in your tuna? I just read ronalds reply in the thread "what you mix with it".. and he mentioned that albacore had more mercury than regular light tuna... Ok,, well I eat albacore tuna every day ( well almost - usually 4 days a week) .

Should I not be?? What are the statistics? Does anyone know? :hmmm:

I know that sly stallone was on an all fish diet during rocky 3 and got mercury poisioning

Hey guy's isn't it the aluminum content from canned tuna and fish sources that too much is bad for you? It's just what i heard i don't take it to heart but i stick to 1-2 of any canned food a day!

femals should be more worried about eating to much mercury. it effects them much more then it effects males.

Not true.........Pregnant women need to be very careful but mercury is going to effect a healthy male just as much as a healthy female.

YES the mercury in tuna is true. You should cut down on your tuna intake. The amount should be 1-2 times aweek. Also stay away from shark, sword, yellow fin, blue fin,and false abicore.Try cod, whiteing, monk(goosefish family) trout(rainbow and saltwalter).I do have working knowledge for this matter,3 generation waterman

That sucks - I love albacore... I assume this goes for sushi/sashimi as well...

I have 2 cans a week. I eat the light kind. I guess it is younger tuna. According the cans, the light actually has more protein.

i eat 2 cans a day... at college its one of the most convenient/healthiest choices

I heard that the aluminum content from the canned tin is bad for you, and you should only have tinned food such as tuna, 3-4 time's a week.

I'm just wondering is this true?

i eat tuna 1-2 times a day, everyday, also kidney beans (from the can), and other canned stuff (tomatoes, chick peas, other fish) on a regular basis, so do the vast majority of the british population i would have thought, yet i can't say i know one person personally that has got mercury poisioning

how would you even know if you had it? vomitting n' stuff?

eventhough their should be a bit concern, everything can cause diseases and cancer: from canned , fishy , fried, well done meat, medium cooked and ....... oh yea

I eat 1 can daily...Everyday.

I can't freakin worry about every little thing.

No, if you are worried about symtoms of aluminum which is converted directly into prion protiens which are what eat away at your brian also known as CJD, the symptons are very easy to tell.

First symptom is DEATH.
