Ok, that was a little extreme. Sorry! This is just an issue that hits home, and my frustration and anger level redlines when I think about the few people I care about suffer.

 Spare me the sob story about your friends... I'm facing unemployment. have been for over a year & the company I work for is hanging on by a thread. It's month to month. I'll spare the details, but I'm hurting. Where we differ is while you think that's somehow the government's responsibility, I think it's mine. I'll take care of myself because I refuse to survive on the government's tit. I'm responsible for myself. The government was never meant to be a fucking nanny.

Besides name calling, your post answered nothing, but demonstrated that you truly are clueless as to what would happen if the country was bankrupt, and just how out of control the Democrats are right now with their reckless spending. your solution of "FUCK THE GOD DAMN DEFICIT", though well intentioned, is foolish.

I'd love everyone to have a house, an education, money in the bank, and a set retirement. Unfortunately, that's not possible.

Really? Really? Tell me where I'm wrong. Tell me that the Bush administration didn't increase the deficit. Tell me how the republicans are different than democrats when it comes to spending money on stupid shit and increasing the deficit. Tell me that obscene amounts of money far beyond the amount we will spend to help middle class Americans keep unemployment benefits weren't wasted when your precious republicans were in office.

And you started the name calling with that bleeding heart shit. Anytime someone shows the slightest bit of compassion for their fellow man, some republican douchnozzle drops the bleeding heart crap.

really, I am middle class at best? ummm...okay. I don't get raped of any wages bro, I am self employed, I own two companies, and unlike you I do whatever the fuck I want, whenever I want. If I don't feel like working I stay in bed, if I want to go on a vacation I just go. And money is not an issue in my life, it has not been for the past 10 years, in fact despite this downturn in the economy the past few years I have actually made MORE money each year....so GO FUCK YOURSELF. :)

lol. he didn't mean you. sorry this response was funny, all i can imagine is you asking someone if they're republican than going off on their ass if they agree with you wrong.

Maybe you should read my post prior to bitching about it. You didn't answer it because you went off on me for something I already addressed....

I don't give a flying fuck what Bush did. Republicans did support the bailouts, and they lost their asses at the polls... which is what is predicted for Democrats this fall.. couple weeks ago I saw a poll saying the public opinion of the Democratic party was at an all time low. You seeing a trend? Hopefully the Republicans learned their lesson.

...hence, all you're doing by bringing up Bush's/republican's spending is arguing a topic we agree on: Bush spent wrecklessly. Elected Republican's supported it.

Anytime someone shows the slightest bit of compassion for their fellow man, some republican douchnozzle drops the bleeding heart crap.

See this is why I entered this topic to begin with. It's bullshit. You are using the same tactic the democrats use... parade an unemployed person in front of the camera & say "see, look at this poor guy that the republicans want to stop giving benefits to..." It's bullshit. Of course we all feel bad for him, just as I feel bad for your friends. But it comes down to the fact that we can't afford to keep spending the way we are or we are all fucked. An Obama financial appointee was just before a hearing saying that same thing.. I can't think of his name or I'd post the video.

So good, it deserves a repost.

We should set a date and pullout of the Middle East.
We should stop supporting corporations.
We should stop extending benefits.

Obama's debt commission warns of fiscal 'cancer'

BOSTON -- The co-chairmen of President Obama's debt and deficit commission offered an ominous assessment of the nation's fiscal future here Sunday, calling current budgetary trends a cancer "that will destroy the country from within" unless checked by tough action in Washington.

The two leaders -- former Republican senator Alan Simpson of Wyoming and Erskine Bowles, White House chief of staff under President Bill Clinton -- sought to build support for the work of the commission, whose recommendations due later this year are likely to spark a fierce debate in Congress.

"There are many who hope we fail," Simpson said at the closing session of the National Governors Association annual meeting. He called the 18-member commission "good people with deep, deep differences" who know the odds of success "are rather harrowing."

Bowles said that unlike the current economic crisis, which was largely unforeseen before it hit in fall 2008, the coming fiscal calamity is staring the country in the face. "This one is as clear as a bell," he said. "This debt is like a cancer."

The commission leaders said that, at present, federal revenue is fully consumed by three programs: Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. "The rest of the federal government, including fighting two wars, homeland security, education, art, culture, you name it, veterans -- the whole rest of the discretionary budget is being financed by China and other countries," Simpson said.

"We can't grow our way out of this," Bowles said. "We could have decades of double-digit growth and not grow our way out of this enormous debt problem. We can't tax our way out. . . . The reality is we've got to do exactly what you all do every day as governors. We've got to cut spending or increase revenues or do some combination of that."

Bowles pointed to steps taken recently by the new coalition government in Britain, which also faces an acute budgetary problem, as a guide to what the commission might use in its recommendations. That would mean about three-quarters of the deficit reduction would be accomplished through spending cuts, and the remainder with additional revenue.

Most Republicans in Congress are opposed to any tax increases, which has made the work of the commission far more difficult. Bowles and Simpson appealed for support to the governors, who have been forced by their states' constitutions to balance their budgets with deep spending cuts and, in many cases, tax increases.

Bowles and Simpson said the commission would have had a stronger hand politically had it been created by Congress, rather than through an executive order. Simpson was pointed in his criticism of seven Republicans who once co-sponsored such a measure but who helped block it in the Senate.

"As far as I can discern, it was to stick it to the president," Simpson said. "That's where we are in Washington." He later added that all seven "have now come to us to say, 'We're ready to help.' "

The presentation by Simpson and Bowles, which included repeated statements of determination to produce a bipartisan set of recommendations, drew praise from the governors.

"I don't know that I've every heard a gloomier picture painted that created more hope for me," said Arkansas Gov. Mike Beebe (D).

Washington Gov. Chris Gregoire (D) said that many governors fear that the commission's recommendations will result in more demands on the states.

Bowles, who noted that the 1997 balanced-budget agreement between the Clinton White House and the Republican-controlled Congress included many provisions that put more burdens on the states, said that wasn't likely.

"I don't think you're going to see a lot of devolution coming from us because the states are all broke," he said.

Simpson also warned that the November elections could add another wild card to the work of the commission. "I have no idea what's going to happen on Election Day but it's going to be disruptive . . .," he said. "It's going to be a big wake-up call around the whole United States. I have no idea where it's going, but thank heaven we have a month then to work through the wreckage."

I agree with this 100%. I don't like the idea of tax funded benefits for the unemployed either. My point, which seems to have been missed throughout all of this, is that since we are going to waste money on stupid shit all the way around, lets at least waste some on people who deserve it.

It gives me a little satisfaction that people who paid into a system are the ones taking out of it. I then get called a bleeding heart for it, and that shit makes me want to punch a mother fucker in the nose.

What is our government here for then? They are here to help and protect us...Or at least SHOULD be here to help and protect US!

Sure we need to take care of ourselves but when our government jerks us around like toys and does as they please with our lives and money then of course we need to care about it...You can only swim against a current for so long before it sucks you under...The current needs to start flowing with the rest of us!

I think the one thing we are all in agreement on is that our government should stop fucking around abroad and start being here for their own damn people...

I want the government to protect us against foreign & domestic enemies. Nothing else. Leave me alone, let me live my life. My grandfather ran into tough times & had 3 jobs at once. Today everyone sits home & bitches about how the government should help them out because they're out of work. Bullshit. People need to rely on themselves.

I would like for our government to help and listen to ALL of America, and not just the top 5% that have the most money.

The Obama administration is against the American public on pretty much all hot topics right now... so how is this listening to America?

you keep using that attack on Republicans, but ignore the purpose of giving tax breaks to the rich. you may not agree with trickle-down economics, but at least be honest in the debate instead of making it look like something it's not.

I never said anything about Obama or the Republican party, and the fact that you think I support Obama and/or Democrats is incorrect, I never said that.

I think the entire government is a big fucking mess, I don't give a shit which party any politician belongs to.

and no, I absolutely do not believe in trickle down economics, if it really worked we would not be where we are right now.

It's hard for me to even begin explaining why this is horseshit. First of all the republicans started the bailouts in 2007.

HA..Ha..LOL.. try doing a little homework before spewing personal anti Republican rants or is this another another one of your simplified explanations??

The Dems took control of the House and Senate in 2007 (Yes while Bush was in office. Imagine that huh??!!) It was the House and Senate (Controlled by DEMS) that pushed the 1st TARP bill through while publicly ridiculing him and while panicking the country with rants about economic collapse.

So, you explain to me how that is polar opposite of what the democrats are doing today with bailouts. The financial ruin took place during the republican administration during a time when Bush fucking thought that the best way to fix the economy was massive mother fucking tax cuts to the rich.

First off the bailouts are paid for with tax dollars. Unless your a tax cheat where do you think that comes form?? Middle class and small business. The tax breaks in place although they do have a provision in there for the wealthy (totally sucks) they also provides tax breaks for middle class and small businesses in the $250K a year range. How many business do you think will boom when the Bush tax breaks lapse and their tax rates increase 20-30%? How many more construction people will be out of work then?? I suppose you'll want to blame Bush/Republicans for that too?? The House and Senate should rewrite the tax law to exclude breaks for those making over 1Mill.

You can suck my fucking cock with the bleeding heart bullshit you partisan piece of shit. I got fucking friends that are suffering. I got friends that are losing their house and losing everything they had because they worked construction for companies that laid off fuck tons of people.

And I suppose that's Bush's fault 2 years after he's out of office people are still being laid off and losing everything?? Did you say you were a doctor? I thought doctor's were supposed to be studious because you sure don't know shit about government, policies or what the hell is really going on. I sure hope you're really not a doctor and treating people. :mooh: Ignorant people like you will be blaming Bush for the next 20 years as the country continues it's spiral into the toilet. Just for the record it's a known fact (try using the internet for something besides porn for a change) the Democratic policies forced the mortgage companies to underwrite loans to people they knew couldn't pay it back and without background checks of income thus beginning the folding of Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac. Then came Tarp bill DeJa'Vu which of course didn't work because it funded pet projects more than giving to the people that needed it and surprise surprise, no one knows where most of the money went. Finally the Health Care reform bill that really got companies to stop hiring, induced layoffs and stifled the economy over fears of each company having to pay millions if health care tax fees when passed. That of course didn't happen but it also didn't stop companies from downsizing personnel and business economies of scale. The company I work for has already terminated 5000+ positions out of the total 10,000 that were employed in the last 2 years so boo fucking hoo to you. We all know someone that's been affected by the current economic situation which begs the question... How's that Hopey, Changey thing working out now??

And again, like I fucking said, because I am fucking right. For right now, FUCK THE GOD DAMN DEFICIT! America hasn't made any real effort to actually pay it back in numerous administrations, and it is everyone's fault.
Did Bush decrease the deficit? NO! Did the previous Republicans decrease the deficit? NO! So why is the current war cry of the republicans to stop benefits to those who lost their job "but what about the deficit!". Fuck that! They are against helping middle class Americans. End of story!

And again as usual you're not right. I agree the Republicans suck for trying to stop employment benefit extensions but then again all politicians suck. Unfortunately the deficit is what is on everyone's mind. When deficit goes up who do you think pays for it. The middle class and small business with tax increases imposed by the govt and downsizing of personnel. I don't know about you but my paycheck and buying power gets smaller every year.

By the way it's the same Democratically controlled House and Senate that continue to push through bill after bill increasing the deficit to it's current 3X what it was when Bush left office. It's the same Dems that continue to run us into the ground and hell bent on turning the USA into a Third World Socialist country under the current no experience bar-room lawyer president.
That probably doesn't bother you while your fucking your customers (or should I say billing them if in fact you really are a doctor) out of what little income they have so you can live a cushy lifestyle but it bothers me.

If it was my choice I'd vote every damn politician out of office and start with a clean slate. As an independent hopefully I'll have that opportunity.

I want the government to protect us against foreign & domestic enemies. Nothing else. Leave me alone, let me live my life. My grandfather ran into tough times & had 3 jobs at once. Go find yourself three fucking jobs since you're in the proverbial hurt locker and nearly unemployed. Let us know when you find them.

he does not know, he just agrees to it because he's Republican and he believes in trickle down economics.

you're right. I think that way because the Republican party does. I don't have an independent thought of my own. :coffee:

I do believe in trickle down economics.

What the hell is going on here? When I lost my job, I got a new one in 12 days. These people who are out of work for so long are either retarded or too fucking lazy. I'm sick of paying for all the losers in this stupid god damn country.

um. the answer within the text you quoted me on. :geewhiz:

I agree with a lot of the stuff you have said in here, but that article you quoted said that we need to cut taxes, and in the same sentence or following one, that we need to increase revenue. How do you think the gov brings in revenue?

I think we can all agree that a flat 15% tax with every loophole closed is what's fair for all, but until the gov't is held accountable for every penny it spends regardless of it being a republican or democrat policy, that won't happen. The problem is that everyone wants to stop entitlement programs, as long as they aren't their own. Go to a Tea Party rally and bring up cutting medicare, see how that goes over. People are only for cutting things that don't affect them personally, right or wrong.

You are correct, and I misspoke there. I was trying to say Bush, but instead said republicans. I was making the point that both democratic and republican presidents of the last two administrations approved huge bailouts to prop up banks and financial markets.

You are also correct that the democratic house and senate caught much less hell than Bush did for the TARP payouts. But, the reason was but then, everyone hated Bush so fucking much that they needed very little reason to to focus on him.

It was all just politics as usual.
