Yo, I did my first refeed yesterday, and well, I think I did it wrong lol. I didn't realize, that I was only suppose to go up 25-50% above maintenance calories when doing a refeed. I think I really over did it lol.

Yesterday morning, I was at 134 lbs, today, I am 138 lbs :hmmm: . I ate about 4000 cals yesterday which felt like a chore to do since I only normally eat 1300 a day. Hopefully it is just water retention, because I did drink a lot of water.

So...was I wrong to eat as much as I did? I felt like a huge fat-ass all day stuffing my face. I think next time, I will only eat like 2700-3000 cal, 4000 is a little to much for me.

You probably dont need to eat that much

And its not possible for 4000 calories to cuase you a four pound fat gain....so yeah its gotta be water and undigested food

Ok good to know. Not sure if I like these refeeds lol.

I used to gain 8-10lbs after a re-feed. A lot has to do with how low of carbs you have been eating and for how long, leading up to the re-feed. Don't worry. the weight will be gone in a day or so.

Arggg... What is it with the starvation on this board at the moment!!

Firstly - you need to eat more. Don't be stupid. Your health is worth more than this and 1300 cals/day is not enough - that is what a 110 pound female who is cutting for a competition should be eating. Not a young, growing male!!

Second - 1300 is NOT your maintainence. It is probably closer to 2200 ish cals. So you have no idea what you should have eaten.

Thirdly - 130 pounds at 5'6 is too skinny for a bloke. Why are you aiming for such a ridiculous weight!

Finally - you can't put on 4 pounds of fat in one day. That would require you to eat more than 14000 calories. It is going to be water weight and glycogen and it is likely going to do your poor starving body good. Deal with it.

Lol ouch Emma.

First: I know that 1300 is not my maintenance calories, it's more along the lines of what you said.

Second: I am trying to get down to 130 lbs because I still have some stomach I would like to get rid of, for some reason my upper body still has some chub on it, legs are fine though.

Third: ....I guess that's about it. Oh ya, should I count calories on refeed days?

1300 at 134lbs!! haha....jesus man, you are going to kill yourself and end up with no muscle!

Well, lol I not sure what to do. I wasn't losing anymore weight at 1800 cal, so I went to 1500, then after that I went to 1300 cal, where I have started to lose weight again.

So the lower the carbs I had been eating up to the refeed the more weight I will put on? Because I thought I was getting plenty of carbs at least 1.5g per body weight.

your goal shouldnt be to lose weight, it should be to lose fat. unfortunately you are losing muscle. youre metabolism is fucked...you need to gradually start raising cals.

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
you weren't losing weight at 1800 cals because you were starving. Now you are donw to 1300 and you are just eating away at muscle. Clearly you have no clue how to set up your diet properly and are dropping cals to soon.

On a side note, no male at 134lbs should be trying to loose weight unless you are a midget. You are now almost the size of my sister.

I just raised my cals not to long ago back to mainteance for 2 weeks...you say I should do it again?

I wasn't going to stay at 130 lbs, my plan was to lose the fat and then bulk up from there.

you need to gradually start raising your cals to get your metab straightened out ..... either that or change your sig to "a ripped 130 lbs. of fat."

how much fat can you possibly have at 130lbs?

If you raise your cals slightly over a series of consecutive weeks you may find that you will loose weight while still eating more. Eat more to loose more!

You'd be surprise at my fat lol. But I have kept my strength. I will do as you say, and eat more. Should I eat at maintenace to do this or above?

don't go right back up. go up really slowly over the course of a few weeks. Maybe, 200cals this week. Then see how you are next week and add another 200 if you can.

What is your body fat?

How are you gauging progress? Calipers? Measurments? Scale? I always did measurments (bicep, waist, thigh) and scale (although not as important as the other) when I dieted.

I have been measuring my progress with a scale. The scale tell both weight and bodyfat. I am sure the bodyfat monitor is wrong, but I went from 22 % bf to 10% bf accorrding to the scale in 6 months. I know this isn't an indication of waist size, but I have gone from 38 inch waist in jeans to a pair of jeans that I bought yesterday that were 29 inch waist.

How much fat can you have at 5'6" and a 29" waist? I am 5'5" and have a 29" waist I am lean.

Don't use those scales that tell BF. Use calipers or measurments. Don't worry as much about the scale it is just there to tell you if you are gaining or losing to quickly.

Do you take pictures of yourself? That is another way to gauge progress.

My best guess would be that you have body dysmorphia issues and possibly an eating disorder. I just guess this judging by the stats that you are listing and the fact that you are eating only 1300 cals. Please post a picture.

I don't have any eating disorders, I am more than willing to eat more calories if I have too, I have no problem with that. It is just I use to be VERY fat at 200lbs, and just really wanted to look in shape, hence the reason I chose to diet. If you say to eat more I will do so.

I will try to get pics up, you will see that I have more of a problem not weight wise, but that my body looks really soft, not to much definition, although since I have been lifting it has started to take some shape.

I see....here is what I think happened:

you were over fat and 200lbs.

You wanted to loose weight and look fit.

You dieted down improperly, losing muscle mass and lowering calories to soon.

You lost some weight

You lost more weight.

You lost to much weigh to facilitate and sort of muscle mass since you didn't have much to start with, being over fat.

You are now wondering why you are so soft at 134lbs?

You think it is because you still have fat to loose.

In reality you are probably more skinny fat then anything. If I were you I would stop trying to diet down and focus on puting more muscle on. get your diet and training in order and start to gain some muscle. that will get you on your way to looking the look that you want.

Really apprecaite all the help P-funk. I think that about clears things up. I will try and get a pic up so you can see.

yes, also post your training and I am scared to even ask....your cardio routine.

Ok, my senior year of High school, I was 5'7 and weighed 135. I was skinny as a rail. Everyone said this. I cant see you being much bigger than I was back then just becuase your an inch shorter and 2 pounds heavier. I'm now 5'7 and weight about 147 and am still considered skinny by my peers.

why not go to a gym? the weights you are using are probably to light for you by now. You need a greater amount of stress to adapt too. PLus, if you have been training on this same routine for awhile you need to change it up.

I would like to join a gym, but need to get a job to pay for the monthly fee. This routine I posted I just started about a month or two ago. Is that to long?

no, as long as you are making progress. the only problem is that you can only progress so much with 100lbs. You need a greater amount of stress to increase your muscle mass otherwise you are just standing still. Forget about buying more free weights. Start pulling your pennies together for a cheap gym membership.

you grew 2 inches at the age of 19 in under a year? :hmmm:

man eat everything, 134 pounds. i was like that when i was 12 lol, eat 300 grams carbs, 150 grams protein, 80 grams fat, drink plenty of water, spread over other meals 6 meeals a day. do you take supps creatine, tribulus, nitric oxide protein?
