i bookmarked it...very nice thread that

I found it whilst trying to see if you can isolate the different heads of the chest for hypertrophy.
assuming you cannot, can someone explain how you can isolate the heads of the deltoid with different exercises, even though they're the same muscle group

You can isolate the upper chest and you can isolate the three deltoid heads. You can also isolate one tricep head over another as well as inner and outer quads.

This does not mean you can do so without activating fibers along the entire muscle, just that you can affect an area of a complex muscle group more strongly than another.

This can and will be argued until all of us are dead, but in my mind the fact is undabatable.

Well, it (the upper chest thing) is in fact very debateable gopro, and good arguments both ways.

I agree you can definitely isolate the heads of the deltoid because they move the arm in different directions.

I also agree that you can isolate the tricep, in particular the long head, it assists the lat in bringing the arm down towards the body (adduction).

As far as the quadricep itself, I have doubts on that one. I have made my points in previous threads, so I will not rehash it.

All debatable yes, but not in my mind. I have witnessed to much evidence to have it proved otherwise to me.

But you are right...this argument has been done to death.
