Prince, you have said that you believe that you can target your "upper" chest. Basic physiology suggest against it. Ok, let's just say that your personal experience can prove that you can "isolate" the "upper" chest. However, your picture clearly shows that there is no upper chest, but just one chest. Do not get me wrong. You are quite developed and you look great. However, I don't see an "upper" chest separated from the rest of the chest. Nor do I see the "upper" chest more developed than the rest of the chest.

Good pic man :)

It's a good one too, for showing that the pectorals are genetically structured so that no matter what you do for them, the outer and lower portions will always be thicker. If you look at the front lat spreads of the pros it's evident in them too. Dorian was a perfect example - he always started off with incline presses (heavy ones too!) and yet his lower chest was clearly larger in proportion (although his upper chest was also well built, purely because his entire chest was well built - fookin hyooooge in fact)

Like i've said in other posts tho, some lads have favourabe genetics so that their entire chest is proportional eg flex, sergio - even arnold so some degree.

The pectoralis minor does indeed lie underneath the pec major, right below the clavicles. Build this portion of the chest with inclines as well as pullovers and you will get the appearence of a thicker upper chest...just like building the brachialis, which lies underneath the bicep. Build the brachialis and the bicep itself will appear thicker and higher.

And again I will say that by targeting the upper chest for example, you will not necessarily build an "even" chest throughout, but simply a "more balanced" chest within your own genetic limitations. The differences will be suttle, but they will exist.

Now please, drop this argument because its getting f*cking old. Nobody is forcing you guys (Chicken, Action, M Eric) to do anything different than you are doing.

You don't need inclines to hit the minor. Any press will do it :) (albeit inclines stress it a bit more). But the degree of significance is minimal. (yes i know you'll say you'll take anything you can get)

*** Hmmm, I thought with your years of experience you would know what certain muscles are responsible for doing.

Inclines will build the chest up just as well as flat presses or flat bench presses. If you would look at the function of the pec minor then you would see that it is only responsible for protraction of the scapula when the scapula is in a fixed position as well as elevating the ribs when in a fixed position. Protraction of the scapula is achieved when the arm is in full extension. Also protraction of the scapula via the pec minor only occurs under a small rom. It is almost uselss to try to use a weight that you use to press and use it under this small rom when it is the movement itself that needs to be distinguisfed first. The pec minor can't withstand a load that is used by the pec majors in all the pressing movements.

I've looked over Gopro's post 3 times and I can't see where he's trying to explain what a muscle is responsible for just how building it up will give the appearence of a thicker upper chest.

This witch hunt is getting old WBB members. I'm ending this.

Hey what did you do to my face! :yell: j/k ;)

Well, obviously I am quite smooth in that pic, so it is difficult to see any type of separation. :)

Since I hurt my shoulders (6 months ago) I have not done and incline presses, so I guess we'll see if my upper chest shrinks! :D
