Its a mitochondrial uncoupler, similar to DNP, although not as strong. It makes the body "waste" energy by rendering some ATP useless. Therefore, more ATP must be produced. The source for this new ATP is fat stores, making usnic acid a potentially excellent fat burner/anti-catabolic.
I though most people here would be familiar with it since Ironman magazine has done some articles on it, and has given it very good reviews.
