Or say, to do a Google search to find information that will support your biases and confirm your hatred? Not so hard I'd think.

Do you honestly think you deserve a response to this nonsense?

No, I don't. Questioning hatred and bigotry should never be allowed.

First off, do you need me to show you how to uses quotes? It takes up much of my time replying having to go back through and cut and paste every bit of material to respond to you.

Really, I dont have time for that... so I'll just respond to the part that was quoted correctly.

I don't know the man. Nor is it responsible to assume that any criticism of this ineffective response automatically reflects a "personal hatred." That's bullshit and an attempt to dismiss his dereliction of duty.
And you are most certainly asking people to suck off the president. That's what rightwingers do. . . .that, and avoid responsibility.

And yet you speak about him as if you do know him, as if you know all the circumstances that have gone on here, etc. Your willingness to jump to conclusions proves your "personal hatred". That and one of the very few reasons to post here is to attack him. The only other posts you are seen in is the gay thread as far as I've seen lately. Of which you are willing to bring up his name often in that debate as well. Does your whole life really center around this guy?

As to the last sentence... more hatred and bigotry. Please keep it coming :thumb:

No, I'm not neglecting the responsibility of the local government. But I'm more inclined to believe the stories of those who have spent the last week coping with the situation than some cheap cowboy flying in for a photo opportunity...with the suddenly five-days-late water, food and troops. [/B]

The people who have spent the last week there are pissed and angry and want to blame somebody. The first person that is going to come to mind is the President, even though countless other people along the way could have sent troops there, sent more medical supplies, etc. Could the President have done all these things? Yes... but really, in a situation like this there should be people in place that handle the situation. He SHOULDNT HAVE TO call FEMA and bust their asses, he shouldn't HAVE TO tell the military how to handle their business when this comes up, he shouldn't have to do most things that people are blaming him for. I think that he thought those things would get done without him having to do everyones job for them... but that isn't something that he should just have assumed like he did. He did need to make those calls, etc. Because he should have to? No, but because the nit-wits from the bottom up did a piss poor job. Does this mean that the President is a racist or a bigot of any sort? No. What it means is that d00d has some wankers underneath him who couldn't do their jobs. Some of those are appointed by him, others of those are not. Regardless, there has been a whole lot of screw ups. The only ones you ever mention are him though. Thats nice, the people on the ground expect the president to be there personally pulling them out of the water. And you know what, we should have a president like that. We HAVE NOT in a long time though, and I do not forsee it any time in the future with the way our government is run these days.

So once again, this isn't Bush being a dick. This is Bush expecting people to perform without him and being wrong about it.

By the way.. you stated that you have been trained to operate in a business that requires logic and truth to it (mentioned this some time ago). Who here really thinks the news is unbiased? Who here thinks the media portrays the whole truth?

If I see a hand go up I'd be surprised. We are all capable of presenting our biases as facts. Myself included. However, I think we need to look underneath the current of media these days and read what is really going on. For one, the media hates Bush. Two, stories from the ground, while they may appear factual, can often times be a representation of peoples fear, etc.

I'm not saying that the people who were there didn't deserve to be a higher priority in the government. But I am saying that if someone on the ground asks,"Why isn't the President here? Why isn't he doing this and that" might not know the full details of what is going on and the failure of everybody else involved (federal, state, etc).

So while it is important to hear what they are saying, I think it is also important that we look into the reasons for them saying what they do and not just assuming that their assumptions are correct.

As said, they should have gotten better help though.

Why respond at all?

And yet you speak about him as if you do know him, as if you know all the circumstances that have gone on here, etc.

No, you project that from your own sense of reality. That's your problem.

Uh-huh. Let's pretend that you have a clue about these memorized cliches.

The people who have spent the last week there are pissed and angry and want to blame somebody. The first person that is going to come to mind is the President, even though countless other people along the way could have sent troops there, sent more medical supplies, etc.

Really? Who were these people? The public and other states and cities that had their supplies re-routed to other locations or turned away by FEMA?

Could the President have done all these things? Yes... but really, in a situation like this there should be people in place that handle the situation. He SHOULDNT HAVE TO call FEMA and bust their asses, he shouldn't HAVE TO tell the military how to handle their business when this comes up, he shouldn't have to do most things that people are blaming him for.

Yep. And he likely shouldn't have taken FEMA and put it under the nonsensical Department of Homeland Security, either. Or appointed a man whose professional experience at disaster relief was as a director for the International Arabian Horse Association.

I think that he thought those things would get done without him having to do everyones job for them... but that isn't something that he should just have assumed like he did. He did need to make those calls, etc. Because he should have to?

Do you think he talks to brother Jeb every time Florida has a hurricane?

No, but because the nit-wits from the bottom up did a piss poor job.

That's conjecture. And precisely what the Administration is attempting to do - shift responsibility for their non-reaction for the first few days.

These things happen when you appoint political cronies. But that's surely comfort to those people watching the person next to them dying of thirst and wondering if they'll be far behind.

Thats nice, the people on the ground expect the president to be there personally pulling them out of the water. And you know what, we should have a president like that. We HAVE NOT in a long time though, and I do not forsee it any time in the future with the way our government is run these days.

Yep. But we do have a President who sure enjoys spending an awful lot of time on vacation.

So once again, this isn't Bush being a dick. This is Bush expecting people to perform without him and being wrong about it.

If any deployment requires orders from the commander-in-chief, then he was asleep at the wheel. There were resources available, some food and supplies being turned away by FEMA, which increasingly appears to be trying to take complete control over the city and situation. Local officials are so angry at FEMA that two different departments put armed guards around equipment to prevent the agency from commandeering them.

This might end up being the largest natural disaster in our history, but not necessarily because of all natural causes. Rapid response is everything in an emergency, and there is no excuse for agencies to spend more time infighting over control than serving the public. He's the President - the buck stops there. . .after he finishes his second piece of cake.

You don't strike me as someone who would ever be interested in a more complete truth or analysis of a situation, because that generally tends to color the rather black and white security blanket that some people wrap around them. It explains the success of such blatantly biased news organizations as Faux and sometimes CNN - as long as they present enough of their point of view as "news", then you don't have to do much thinking for yourself. However, there is a difference between "unbiased" and the concept of "fair and balanced." Balance requires providing space for multiple points of view, something which threatens conservatives much more than the readily identified right/left attitudes they cling to with desperation. Moreover, if an entire story is told, you wouldn't be able to recognize it because of your own biases as a consumer. So, like many people, you often choose sources of information with a product that reinforces your own opinion. So technically, the question should be who here wants to read information that might conflict with the way you believe things are?

Not too many. That takes courage and responsible citizenship.

If I see a hand go up I'd be surprised. We are all capable of presenting our biases as facts. Myself included. However, I think we need to look underneath the current of media these days and read what is really going on.

You mean, what you, in your in-depth research on the media, have determined to be what is going on?

For one, the media hates Bush.

Wingnut myth number one.

Two, stories from the ground, while they may appear factual, can often times be a representation of peoples fear, etc.

Interesting. Of course, you are skilled enough to determine what and where those facts are located within these kinds of stories. And that, naturally, led you to the incredibly responsible reporting of Faux and The Washington Times?

I'm not saying that the people who were there didn't deserve to be a higher priority in the government. But I am saying that if someone on the ground asks,"Why isn't the President here? Why isn't he doing this and that" might not know the full details of what is going on and the failure of everybody else involved (federal, state, etc).

If your state and local officials are being told every day that help is on the way, your officials have seen the supplies waiting outside the city and have watched FEMA sabotage or refuse their distribution (no airdrops because of fear of riots. . .until Friday, when airdrops were fine?) and you are standing there waiting day after day as you watch another American citizen die next to you, you damned well DO have the right to ask where the hell your President is - it's his damned job. Protecting those lives is a higher priority than any adventure in any other country.

I don't buy that the Administration couldn't step in earlier in the week. The requests were made, promises made, nothing was delivered. While I know President Bush doesn't like to pay attention to the media, this wasn't a story that his advisers could ignore. And American citizens died because of that negligence....for want of a bottle of water that his own damned agency wouldn't let drive through the barricades to the city.

So while it is important to hear what they are saying, I think it is also important that we look into the reasons for them saying what they do and not just assuming that their assumptions are correct.

Right. And I'd imagine there would be a whole lot of other voices with something to say about this situation - if they were still alive.

As said, they should have gotten better help though.

You're right Kbm, why have I actually spoken to you?

You're a waste of time, and your opinions are intractable. You ARE full of hatred, and you ARE a bigot. Your statements against groups of people every day make that apparent.

I am willing to work and learn... and I have admited that the President has made mistakes in this. You however, try to lay the blame completely at his feet because of your personal dislike for him. There is NO other way to see it, because it has happened so many times.

When you kick a mail box over... you really kicked it over. Theres no half truths or hidden aspect of that. If you smash a car window, then you did it. Stop trying to portray what you do as something other than what it is. "Oh, yes... well if thats how you see it, then you must think I kicked over the mailbox, but you'd be wrong". Right, I'm tired of that BS.

What the fuck do you know about looking outside the box? Ooooh, "I've been in a hurricane". Wow! Somebody give the man a brownie button. That must give you amazing insights into natural disasters, that hurricane.

So you're right Kbm, why do I chat with you? Well, its a waste of my time, and unfortunately that is something I have little of these days. So with that, I can simply add you to my ignore list and leave your little "anti-Bush" world behind. Have fun in it, we'll send the rest of the loonies in when they stop by.

You enjoy wasting your time. And your incessant need to attempt to play the "bigot" and "hatred" card every time someone refuses to give the President a free pass on his responsibilities speaks more about your own hatred, fear and innate bigotry. But you never quite get that.

Thanks for showing how secure you are about your own opinions by having to make public statements about who you choose to ignore.

lol, thanks andy :p

Don't worry... theres not much value to Kbm besides the anti Bush propoganda he pushes 24/7. I'm not offended by him, just that he's a complete waste of time.

Its no wonder the journalistic profession has suffered so much of late  Credibility my ass

Anyways, thanks for having my back :)

Lol, no problemo. The way I see it, Bush is jsut an outlet for people's anger, but justifiably so. A bunch of ppl dropped the ball, but it doesn't matter since Bush should've taken charge and set things right by then.

Yeah, I dont know what his deal is with not being more aggressive with situations like this. Its strange, because once he gets going he goes all out. But it takes a big kick in the ass for him to build up steam. I think these things will come to light in the next elections... what people want from their President.

Somebody that can act rationally, but also quickly. When there is a emergency it is given immediete priority and he (and someday she :p ) is down there working and helping out.

Of course when there are gun fights and snipers down there he cant really just go hang out in the open... but you know what I mean.

Yep, but there are no good nominees in sight for any party. I don't want jeb :P

Nobody will vote for Jeb. Well, maybe a few die hard conservatives... but by and large he'd be sure to lose the next election. It'll be somebody else.

I wonder if both parties are going to put up crap again like the last elections (since I can remember?).

I really want someone who makes under 7 figures a year and has only one house, 2 cars, and zero maids or butlers to be the next president. I want some true god damn representation.

Yeah, but how does a person without wealth get there? Thats my question...

Where are the philosopher leaders that can understand not only the important questions they need to address, but the full extent of their answer as well?

One of the great pleasures of being on ignore is that I can respond. . .and he can't. . . ;)

Occasionally you actually produce some ideas and seek information; but for a college student, ya need to work harder on those critical thinking skills and get over that need to have everything so set in stone. ;)

Exactly, which is why our political system needs a major overhaul, which it will never get. I kidna like that Arak Obama guy, senator of idk where. Young guy, smart, knowledgable. Better than some crazy bitch Hillary or Condizooleneeeza :P

Actually, he didn't make me look like a fool you silly twat. He stated the same old political hatred over and over and over again like a retarded little angst filled college community student that can't get over the fact that people will actually let him have a stage to jump up and down on.

Anyways... thanks for passing that on mino, ya bitch :p
