A friend of mine had his left shoulder operated on thursday of last week. He has about an 8 inch long scar on it..
This morning he was back in the gym working the right side of his chest. He was using an 85 pound dumbell for dumbell bench press.
I tried to do it and it nearly flipped me off the bench.
I guess you gotta want it.

I wouldn???t do it, instead I would just work on my legs and midsection until everything else heals up.

What does he want??...It sounds as if he will not be satisfied until he needs to have his right shoulder operated on. Tell him to take it easy. Tell him to take Kata's advive: abs/legs.

that is great, but why does he want to make himself off balanced? he is going to get his right side stronger/bigger than the left.
You might be right Robert and I asked him why he was doing it? He told me he had read an article years ago about several people that had injuries like his and they had done the same thing.
Supposedely, the human body wants to keep it's musculature in balance so working the good side keeps the weak side from shrinking. I too have read the article and I am looking for it, so there might be a method to his madness.
