Veto the National Defense Authorization Act of 2012 as several provisions of the bill pose a threat to civil liberties.

We implore the Obama Administration to veto the National Defense Authorization Act for the Fiscal Year 2012 (S. 1867). Several provisions of the bill pose a direct threat to the civil liberties of Americans by authorizing the indefinite detention of American citizens without trial or access to legal counsel, with the mere suspicion of terrorism as justification. These provisions, which undermine several fundamental protections granted by the U.S. Constitution, are applicable to American citizens detained on U.S. soil, essentially redefining America as "part of the battlefield" in the war on terror. In light of failure of the Udall Amendment , and the likely passage of the bill in the Senate, we urge the president to exercise his authority to veto the National Defense Authorization Act.

This is no joke! Unless you think the idea of being detained and sent yo Guantanamo Bay for an indefinite about of time without reason or due process and nullifying our civil liberties you belong in China.

It takes 2 mins. This is serious business!

I signed it but it's it's futile, this bill funds the fake-ass war that the MIC started it's for "security"...since pulling out of Iraq they have to keep the profits up to keep those stock shares high to prevent losses and if that means grandma losses her medicare or SS then

the US fed gov blows great big giant donkey cock...

So, you all don't want to be protected from the terrorists? Have you all forgotten about 9/11? Thank god we have bills like this and the patriot act. Otherwis, the smoking gun might have already come in the form of a mushroom cloud.

it's a bunch of hype. simply another manufactured war so the US can install forces in the middle east and that big ass embassy and secure the area to that pipeline project can get started. it should bring in some decent revenue for Afghanistan to help them come up. it's the same story that's been going on over there for decades natural resources and drugs (poppy). the US and NATO have been training afghan security forces to protect the pipeline along with US private security forces under contract.
