Video of me benching 315x12

great job.. looked like reps 10,11, and 12 you went up fully extended, or way more extended than the first 9 reps.. any reason why you went almost all the way up on these last 3 reps vs the first 9? great job..

I'm going to take my comment back and tell you this is not very impressive because I'm jealous and you're going to have to deal with it.

you can up the weight and do sets of 5 or 6 an keep it going from there though. What does your chest routine look like ?

I change it up allot, normally use dumbbells only.

Flat
60lb 20 reps for 2 sets
jump to the 125
3 sets of failure

incline
125
3 sets of failure

decline
225 3 sets of failure

flys (switch it up from flat or incline)
3 sets of failure around 70lbs

100lb dips same 3 sets to failure

I think the biggest problem that I have is I took allot of time off and lost ALLOT of flexibility. Which is making my more prone to injuries. As gay as this sounds I am going to start yoga once a week to get my range of motion fully back. To see if that helps and incorporate deep tissue chest massages. I only get injured on flat bench and I feel my form is perfect so I think my body is just not liking the range of motion. I will work on it because I want to bench more than 405 soooo bad and know i can do it. Last time I tried 405 it felt light in my hands and on the decline but 6 inches off my chest I felt a painful pinch so I stopped.

I've seen this strong bench press with guys this size and even smaller several times. I think it goes to show that there are freaky genetics in strength naturally. I truely have seen an african american who I know, bench 405 for a couple reps and he weighed only 175 and didn't look like much either. Oh, and an asian guy who weighed about the same bench 455 no jacket and all natural. Not to take away from the 315 for 12reps, I can do it for 10 on a good day and I'm 5'8' and weigh 250. Bench has never been my stong point.

Legs and Chest I have all ways dominated in. In high school I put up 365 @165llbs I wish I did not take a 6 year break. I would love to of seen the gains I would have had. But like I said I think my body is just built for bench. I have shorter arms and I understand the proper way to bench press so I have the ability to generate allot of power. Not to mention in high school all I did was squats and bench lol. My back though is my weak point. I have been struggling with dead lifts. It took 1 year to go from 405 to 420 max

Do alot of leg extensions, leg curls, and incorporate front squats (help build back) and leg presses to increase your deadlift.. It helps tons... and obviously squats.

Nice set bro! I'm on to you though, that's one of those lighter bars and you know it.

Great. Job what you maxing out at

Even more impressive was your ROM with that weight and that many reps. Kudos, man.

Always great to see someone just throw six plates around like they're toys.

Looks like it's the Supraspinatous muscle? :gosh:

Not into maxing my bench, because I strained it many times which takes me out of the gym. I attempted 405 a few months back and actually felt light but I started to feel a pinch in my arm pit so I had my spotter pull it up.

I hear you, bro. That was pretty impressive, though. That is no common feat.
