Ok, well I'm trying to lose about 5lbs of FAT from around my waist so I started doing cardio. Well yesterday was my first day on the stationary bike and I did about 20 minutes. When I got off my thighs were pumped. So I decided to do legs, which I was not supposed to do until tonight as part of my full body HIT I'm now following. I did 2 warm up sets, the one work set which I got out 9 reps, then SLDLs and calves. It felt good, but I was wondering if this was a bad thing, I mean to work out after the cardio. It's just that my legs felt really pumped, I mean I was surprised that I kept going the whole 20 minutes since its been a long long time since I've done the bike.

Thanks,

No, it wasn't wrong at all. When somebody is working legs, they are burning allot more calories than if they were working a smaller muscle group. The more calories that you burn off means that there are less calories is you system to turn to fat.

If you build it they will come

If you get the urge and you are feeling pumped, that is great time to workout! There is nothing sweeter than getting in a good, hard workout when you are really feeling psyched. If you normally do cardio AFTER your weights, switching that around once in a while will do harm.

Uh do you mean, "will do no harm?"

OOPS! Yes, I meant "will do NO harm." That's why I keep you around, babe!

So cardio is the only way to get rid of the Mid section. OH MAN!

Mule you read my mind, I was JUST talkin' with honey about that. I have a belly b/c of the baby you know and I thought that the only way I would lose it was to do all that ab stuff, he said no that I had to keep doing the cardio...AGGGGGHHHHHHHH, it's gonna take forever!!!!!!! LOL!

He was walkin' by and he said that it is better to do cardio afterwards (unless you do a 5min warmup, that's good) b/c something about using your energy to build muscle and then burn off the fat, I don't know, it's just better that's all...LOL! Plus, it is better to do cardio in the morning before you have eaten anything, that's when I do it, but he does it at night(usually b/c he is workin in the morning...I guess).

Cardio helps by burning calories, but your diet is they key to getting lean!

Thank you Prince.
All this talk about spot reduction in the belly. AHHHH! Cardio is a big part of losing fat and weight, but another equally important part is diet and regulating metabolism.

Yup, diet is the biggest part to loosing weight. If you have a perfect diet, you don't even need cardio but for people like me, that don't have a perfect diet, it helps.

I don't think you did any harm doing cardio then weights, it all depends on what your goals at the time are, if you were strictly trying to gain muscle mass then it would be bad but if your after loosing a few pounds then its A.OK!!
