I'm a beginning bodybuilder. And I've started and stopped for years. I'm 36 now, and I'm hoping this time I will stick with it. I have 2 children and I work full time, so the best time for my workouts is Saturday, Sunday.

I've been doing back and bi's on Saturday, and chest, shoulders, and tri-ceps on Sunday. I'm managing to squeeze in some leg extensions and lunges once, during the week.

Do you think I'll make some progress with this routine?

Hi everyone,

Here's my weekend routine.

one arm dumbell rows 3/10 each
reverse dumbell flys, lying on bench on stomach 3/6

Dumbells: hammer curls, 2 sets to exhaustion

Traps: barbell: standing upright rows 3/10

SUNDAY

SHOULDERS:[ standing lateral raise 3/10
standing front raise 3/10

B]Chest:
[/B] Flat Bench: 3/10 standard grip width
3/10 wide grip width

Dumbell Flys slight incline: 3/10

Triceps Lying on bench on back: Tricep extensions 3/10

Standing military press barbell: 3/10

I try to do abs everyday; about 100 crunches.

Thanks for your responses.

Moze.

What are you goals, stats, diet??? Why do you do more exercises for biceps then triceps? Squats????? Read the stickies in the diet and training section.

Progress? Yeah. Bodybuilder? Nope. It will work for a while probably but your almost over-loading your body. Its not the worst Ive seen for sure but if you could work in ONE day during the week your body would respond better IMO.

I thought the military press helps workout the triceps. If you count those as part of the triceps exercises, then there would be a total of 6 sets for triceps and only 5 sets of biceps exercises, the last 2 sets to flush the muscles.

If not, then I'll add tricep kickbacks to even it out, allthough that seems like an awful lot if you consider the benchpress working the triceps as well.

Maybe I need to figure out a different schedule altogether then. I'm just not interested in working out at 4:30 a.m. or 10:00 p.m.

:hmmm:

Here you want a full workout. go out and buy a new DvD movie. Then try removing that fu-king plastic off the cover of a new DVD movie you just bought without a knife or some other instrument. That should do it. What the hell the making this new plastic with "steel fibers"

I know exactly what you mean. The last time I tried to open a package with that modern plastic, I had to use an industrial strength pair of sheers. My hands were shaking afterwords.
