It completely caught me off guard. I'm not familiar with the show Desparate Housewives and I thought the skit was a commercial. But then it went on and on and on. Then she ripped of her towel and jumped into T.O's arms.
After it was over, my first thought was "Is ABC crazy???". After what happened at the Super Bowl and the fine that was levied on the network showing the game, I could not believe that ABC would do something like that. And there was no doubt, she was buck naked when she jumped on T.O.
Apparently the phones lit up at ABC with viewers complaining and ABC and the NFL have apologized. The main issue from the callers seems to be that parents had tuned into the game with their kids sitting also in front of the TV set and there was no warning that a strip scene was about to happen. I know I was totally surprised.
If you exclude the inappropriateness of showing that on network TV in prime time hours, or if it had been shown instead as a skit on later night cable, say as a promo for the game and the show, then I would have thought "that was funny!!".
What do all of you think about it?
