I see you like the dunes too. That is what I use my white truck for. Here in michigan we have a place called silver lake where we can drive up these huge sand hill that are twice the height of the trees. I have pics from the top of the hills. It is ight next to lake michigan. Lots of sweet trucks there!!! It opens up again in April-can't wait.
Yes it is alot of fun i have not been out in awhile because i am in some need of tires. I am going to go up one size on the tires and about 2" of lift for the truck. I will be doing that in a few months when i get a job.
Hey if i am still unemployed in april maybe i will take a trip to Michigan and wheel in that spot you are talking about.

Well since the road salt and crap are killing my vehicles mabey I will just come down there and wheel with you :D But if you decide to come up here that would be great!! You will probly kick my butt on the dunes. The light trucks with big tires like your just tear us up with our big heavy trucks:thumb:

public transportation

Um, I drive a 2000 Mazda MPV. I guess it's tricked out as far as vans go (6 CD in dash, drop down TV/Video/game screen, leather, blah blah).

Oh shit. I drive a mini van

*sympathy for Stickboy* :(

I drive a 1988 Jeep Chrerokee, occasionally drive the wifes 1992 Toy-yoyo and have a 1970 Monte Carlo in da garage for a fun toy (read Summer Car).

1973 240Z, bought a 82 ZXT (turbo) car for $150, going to throw the engine in the 240 in a couple months I hope, with some upgrades of course.

Here is the other car, its lowered now and Koni DA equipped. This shot was taken in march, 2001.

Other former fun cars, 69 Firebird 400, and a 97 Cobra vert.

Mudge,
I see you have pics on some sort of autocross. Do yo do that professionally or just for fun? I have raced my 96 formula on a local autocross course here in michigan. It was called Gratton. It was such an unbelievable experience as you probably already know. That is one of the reasons why I bought the 96 formula. I drove the 69 camaro all day yesterday and I brought it back out today. Weather man sais snow is coming back tomorrow so by by camaro until the next dry, warm day. :wave2:
Do you drag race the 69 firebird? Do you know what it runs in the quarter mile? Any pics of it? If I hadn't bought the 69 camaro i would have bought a 69 firebird. :thumb:

I've traded the nearly dead '91 thunderbird for a '99 Saturn SL2 which was supposedly the only car they could finance me for (my credit sucks due to the fact that i found out liquor stores took credit cards when i was in my early 20's). I'm not a real big fan of the Saturn, its too small and kinda lacking in the quality department. However, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can have my '54 BelAir on the road this summer (realistically, maybe late summer); if not this year, definitely in '04.

Have you started working on it yet? Any pics of the Belair? Any ideas of what you want it to look like? I just started talking to this kid the other day at the gym and he has a 65 Belair.

lean_n_76er
Any pics or specs of the70 monte? My friend just sold his about a year ago.

My "Sheep in wolf's clothing" the ultimate disgrace :p

My 99' Firebird W68 Pewter Metallic........(not Pooter) :hehe:

It's my cruisin vehicle and it's fun especially with the t-tops off and the stereo blastin. I really forget what HP it is. Might be at 215hp with the dual exhaust and K&N. It'll do a burnout if I want it too. It's pretty decient in the snow hence the reason I got a V6 instead of a V8. Traction Control is a life saver!

Overall it gets me to the gym and back :)

Road racing, I haven't done AutoX yet. AutoX is supposed to be a very good teacher and prep for RR, but I haven't gotten around to doing it, for several reasons, mostly because you run for about a minute a couple times over 6-8 hours, and I have to drive really far for that? bah

As for the Firebird, I'm a Camaro guy, I would have rather had a 67/68 Camaro, but having my eyes on the car, and I had the cash at the time, I had to have it. I am considering dumping the Camaro for a first gen car again, but I really dont know what I'm going to do. The 69 steered worse than a boat, dually pickups did better U turns. I never really got around to buying aftermarket stuff like Global West parts or anything, which would have fixed up the suspension pretty nicely. I eventuall toasted the engine, doing 130 on the way to work every day, probably oil starvation. 3 rods gone, piston materialy all over the top end of the intake valley, it was a mess. :( I had to be to work at 3:30 AM so I saw maybe 3-4 people on the way to work, over 35 miles.

There are a couple major organizations which will have chapters in your area, SCCA, NASA, etc, but you will easily find help I believe in the CamaroZ28.com AutoX/RR forum, if you want to find some fun. Oh, and I do it for fun, I am not that great that I race for money :) If I did you'd see stickers all over the car and it wouldn't be primered. Making money in racing is pretty much a not-possible proposition, if you break even your lucky, until you get to F1/CART/Nascar or something like that. You definately have to look good though if you want sponsors, not a primered beater :)

no pics yet except for a few in the very beginning stages which it still is in now. much work to do; the car is mostly complete, just needs assembling with some ordering of some parts (wheel cylinders, tie-rods, etc), plus i'm converting it to an 8 cyl because the original 6 only has about 110 bhp from the factory. I'm not looking to tear up the strip or anything, but enough power to be comfortable with. the roof is already chopped 3 inches and i have to find a smaller bench seat because my head goes through the roof now.
when this project is done, I may do a '32 Ford Vicky

I like before pics. You should have seen what my camaro looked like when I bought it. :) I hope to get a lot done on it this summer now that I refinanced my home and got an equity line of credit.

Mudge
Have you done any mods to the newer camaro? I only raced autoX acouple times and like you said I only did it for fun. I think I am done with that. Its really expensive and brutal on the car (1996 formula)

That is an awsome looking firebird!!! The only way it could be better is if it had the v8 and ram air hood. It is still a tight ride!!! I always wanted a 98 or newer transam with the ram-air!!! And it would have to be silver just like yours. That is the same color silver (Pewter) I am going to paint my 69 camaro--tight!

I'm the only mod logged on too. I can not do anything about it unless he posts in the Sports forum or Picture Gallery. We have to sit here and put up with it until other mods log in.

Can anybody remember the last time................or ANY time you ever WANTED a mod to show up?
