Q: When would be the best time to take a VP2/Creatine HSC mix? Pre-training? Sipping it during the warm up? Half an hour before warming up? Half an hour before the first heavy set? I'm not 100% clear on this.
A: Here's what I would recommend. Mix 1 scoop (serving) of Creatine HSC and 2 scoops of VP2 Whey Isolate in about 16 to 24 ounces of ice cold water. Drink about half of this mixture 15 minutes before you train. Drink the other half during the first part of your workout.
Use a mixture Creatine HSC and VP2 Whey Isolate before and after training to "bracket" your workout with the anabolic triggers for muscle growth.
This should raise your blood glucose levels nicely before you train and keep them elevated while you train.
I strongly recommend that you then have an identical mixture right after you train. This will elevate your blood glucose levels again and take advantage of the post workout insulin sensitivity to trigger the anabolic mechanisms of muscle growth.
This is the new "bracketing" technique that Paul Cribb has been working on. The mixture of Creatine HSC and VP2 Whey Isolate has a very significant effect on blood glucose levels and using this technique properly will drive more nutrients into the muscle at the right time to help accelerate muscle protein synthesis.
You will definitely notice the effects of this new supplementation technique from day one with a more noticeable "pump" while you are training and a more lasting "pump" afterwards.
