I think everyone is well aware that many people now use electric vehicles. There are some many electric scooters, bicycles, motorcycles, cars. Where do you get fewer pollutants released into the atmosphere? The lithium needed to make the batteries comes from strip mines using monstrous diesel powered machinery. It gets hauled out with diesel powered machinery. Processed in plants that use electricity generated with fossil fuels. I'm sure you get the idea. Then you have to charge the bastards with electricity generated by more fossil fuels. Ever see a strip mine? Not very environmentally friendly.

If you live in a city and want to use one for commuting, they work well, long trips not so good. The range is one thing, but the charge time is what you really have to look at when trying to decide. If you gas powered car has a range of 300 miles, it's a quick stop and fill up to go further. If your electric car needs a charge, you're looking at 8 hours to recharge unless you have a fast charge portal and even then it's an hour or so. From what I've seen they're great for city commuting, but anything else not so great.
