I'm just throwing this out to everyone because ever since I started lifting again last October I have had unpredictable, sometimes explosive and always soft bowel movements. On top of this I sometimes get a "sour stomach". The lifting coincides with an immediate change in my diet which includes a PWO shake (Whey, water/skim milk, banana and berries, splash of juice) and possibly one shake with breakfast when I first get up. I can't say for sure that I am not Lactose intollerant, but when I make the shakes with no milk, I still have this problem (although I do still add a bit of yogurt sometimes). I will be seeing a doctor this week as this has gone on far too long. My question is this...Is there anyone else out there who just can't digest powdered protein forms? (if that is indeed what my problem is) Is this common? And what do people do for Post WO food instead of shakes? Any info would be great as I am actually getting a bit scared...I am only 27 and I'm praying there isn't something seriously wrong here...

Whey is a derived from dairy. So you could still be lactose intolerant. Try some soy protien or egg protein and see if you notice a difference.

I'll give egg protein a try...anyone else care to weigh in?

they have problems from Whey consumption?

I am hoping this is the case...it sounds reasonable. The other day I woke up and (on an empty stomach) made a shake with 2 scoops of whey, a handful of berries, a banana, and water and sure enough...2 hours later i was chugging Pepto because of my stomach. Yesterday I shot down 4-5 mouthfuls of yogurt before the drive to work (after waking up...I don't start eating on work days until I get there) and my stomach was making crazy sounds and pretty much felt like shit the whole way to work.

I take it the Egg based Protein is better than the Soy based correct? Anyone ( with this problem) try Lactaid in shakes???

does Isopure Whey Protein accomplish the same thing as taking in Egg Protein as far as easing the Lactose Intolerance...or should I not even mess around and go straight to the Egg Protein?

try any powder that is an isolate. I am lactose intolerant and have no problems with whey isolate such as Nectar.
