what pre contest dry out method works well for u?

Im still couple months away but ive heard 2 different drying out methods. Some guys eat carbs all the way thru, expecting the carbs to pull subcutaneous water once they cut their drinking. Another method is guys carbing up then cutting the carbs when they cut their water so theres no water retention. Just wondering what experiences you guys have had?
