What to take, and when?

I haven't been working out much this past 8 months or so but I'm trying to get back into it. I'm about 6'4" 210 lbs and I'm just wondering what supplements I should take, how much of it, and when should I take it?

I'm guessing go with the basics such as Protein, Multi-Vitamin, and possibly Creatine. (Is there anything else I'm leaving out?)

I'm wondering at what times of the day should I take these, and if I should take them together? As far as the protein goes, should I take it with creatine (and should I take it with carbs post-workout? If so, what kind of carbs should I put in it, and where can I get them?)

Also, is flaxseed important?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
 
Doesn't seem like anyone replies to any of my posts. Just keeping this refreshed. Can anyone help me out here?
 
Yes, take all three as mentioned above. Take the multi according to the label. I would take the creatine 2 times a day. 5g per serving(once in the morning on an empty stomach, and once post workout). Take the creatine with dextrose, or concord grape juice. Dont pre-mix it, because it will turn into creatinine. Protein, depends on your diet... The least you should use is 1 shake a day, and thats post workout. You can use carbs if you want(sweet potatoes, brown rice, wheat bread, oatmeal, pasta, or higher glycemic carbs like white rice, whit potatoes, rice cakes, etc..).
 
Thanks man, as far as the carbs with my protein shake go though, post-workout I'll probably be taking it AT the gym and I think it'll be a little difficult to eat a sweet potato ;)

Is there anything else I can use for carbs? Possibly something I can just toss in my shake?
 
dextrose. or eat some smarties.
 
Yea, put some uncooked oats in with the protein. Then once your done, fill with water and drink. You will need to shake it frequently, because the oats sink, but it tastes good IMO.

I would take the creatine within 10 mins of finishing(take at gym) and then take the protein at home(within 1 hour).
