In all reality, I would say that the answer to this question depends on the context. The race demographic makes no difference if the races adapt, and more minorities start attending college and graduate schools and getting white collar jobs. On the other hand, if the race statistics stay the same as they are today and the white population drops below 40 or 50%, I doubt the economy will survive. For example, the top 5% of the wealthy pay approximately 54% of all federal income tax. These are primarily the lawyers, doctors, and business owners; all jobs which are synonymous with higher education and traditionally held by white people. If the top 5% simply dissappears, by not procreating fast enough, the economy would fail IMO. If minorities change their current state and start filling those positions at higher rates, then obviously nothing will be different except skin pigment.

This isn't exclusive to the economy, it goes for everything: crime rates, incarceration rates, illegitimate children, drug use, cultural priorities such as emphasising the family and education....etc.

You fail to realize the number of retirees who would flock the other way and build winter retirement homes in Mexico and summer retirement homes in Canada, that would bolster the Mexican economy enough to keep them in place and would clear the 48 states of elderly pace car drivers doing 20 miles under the speed limit. Plus free up housing and bring the cost down, I mena look at all the babyboomers now and they are only getting older.
