Getting my wisdom teeth out. I didn't want the Anesthesia so they said they'd keep me awake and still be able to eliminate the pain :nope: ... All they did was give me a little novocaine. I was 100% conscious and felt pretty much everything. The slicing of my gums, sawing or whatever of my teeth plus the bone dust going in my eyes and nose, digging around in my gums with the hook thing and yanking with pliers, blood gargling, sewing my gums back up ect ect. I came out of the dentist's office shaking and almost in shock or something. It sucked. The 40 percs helped ease my mind, but other than that I wanted to hurt someone.

Holy shit...:wits:

Why didn't you want to be put under?

I don't know I guess less risk involved if I were to stay awake. And I thought they'd be able to control the pain just as much. I still cringe thinking about it lol.

they could take out my liver with no anesthesia if the only alternative was putting me under.

probably when this girl I was dating and I broke up, then she went on to date someone in my department. :)

I was picking up a slab of concrete(it was a section of sidewalk) and it broke in half and fell on my big toe.. It 'exploded' the end of it like a ripe tomato. That fucking hurt, but then once I got to the ER they stuck a needle into it for lidocaine shots.. and that hurt much worse. I thought I would die :shiver:

Oh, yeah, :roflmao: .... :suicide:

I had mine pulled like that as well, except the dentist didn't have to cut into my jaw. Nurses held my head still while the dentist cracked the teeth from my jaw and then ripped them out. I saw a stream of blood shot out of my mouth. I also couldn't take the pain medicine, because hydrocodone makes me sick.

They had shot me up with novacaine while they did it. I went straight to sleep once I got him, and by the time I woke up, they didn't really hurt too bad. I had no pain at all the next day.

Most pain? Well, I've got a lot to choose from...but I'm going to pick getting a vasectomy.

They used a topical to numb my tea bag, but it wasn't enough. Oh, it made it so that I didn't feel the incisions are the soldering, but it just wasn't enough.

When the doctor started to yank on my tubing, I learned an important lesson: it's attached to everything else.

I felt a jerking on my internals. It is a pain that surpasses getting hit by a car, having water in my lungs, getting my wisdom teeth pulled, and walking on a fractured leg for almost an hour. It's the pain by which I measure all others.

For some reason in the last week to 1.5 weeks, I had a really intense pain in either a hip flexor or groin muscle when I sat on the floor in a certain position... I don't know what it was or why it happened... Especially given the fact I hadn't been in the gym for a while at that point. I wonder if it had anything to do with the virus I had while being sick.

I did break my collar bone totally in half, but I don't remember being in much pain at all.

DOMS I don't mean to pry but I am curious- how old were you when you got your vasectomy-and what made you come to that decision. You seem kind off young to get the snip.

When I blew out a rotator throwing a football!! I've never been stabbed, but I have a pretty good idea of what it would feel like to be stabbed in the shoulder!!

I had it done when I was 28. I have three children and that's more than enough for me.

I did the research, and there are no downsides to having it done (either than not being able to have children). On the plus side, it cuts down on getting a certain type of cancer (prostate, I think).

You're a brave man getting it done at 28! Must have done a lot of soul searching before coming to that descision.

I'm pretty open about myself. There is no question about myself that I won't answer. So far, as far a my children go, nobody had asked the right question.

Oh, and I posted a picture of my youngest son in my last journal.

Not really.

In order to get it done at that age, you have to answer a few psychological (and physiological) questions. The doctor asked me what I would do if all of my children died. I told him that they're aren't like cars or baseball cards; they can't be replaced. He okayed the operation after that.

Good answer, pretty much hit the nail on the head. I guess that's exactly the sort of thing he wanted to hear. It's important to make sure you are psychologically ready and sound to make such a life altering desicion.

They can be reversed on occasion though, can't they?

:nut:

Thanks for your candid response DOMS. I also did not realize that you had children- but I'm sure there is a lot I don't know about you- you are a man of mystery...Hell for all I know BigDyl has a entire school of kids. :shake:
