I hope I don't offend anyone, it's not my intention.

I want to try to articulate something that's been on my mind allot lately.

Pretty much since the new Gear Ads came out in advance of V-Day.

I served from 08/89 - 08/93.

That means I was in the first incursion against saddam. Desert Storm.

I can still remember where I was and what I was doing when the Capt. came over the 1MC and told us we were at war.

It was surreal. Not scary because no one is trained better than we are.

Now, twenty plus years later...

1 ) I know i will always live with these chronic health conditions w/o help from the VA.

- Mainly having to do with my Gut ( trace Depleted Uranium poisoning ) as result of the Ammo being radiated by Fed.

- I think any old timers can back me on this, but it's possible some aren't aware. I forgive them.

2 ) I know there is NO HONOR in war, or killing,
and it makes me sad for the innocent caught up in it.

( imagine red dawn happening here ).

3 ) As result, we vets carry the scares physically, mentally and emotionally in private, because no one will ever understand or cares to.

4 ) the Veteran Hospital is Garbage, pumping out pills, not solutions.

5 ) It's just bad all around.

6 ) War is a Racket,

- whereby the fat cats and their Bureaucrats sit on the Hill all paid off and completely unaware of the damage they've caused. While the forgotten Vets will never be able to forget.

7 ) Their Solution: cut benefits to veterans.

So if you want to thank a Vet, please consider doing so for the right reason, not because it's a common pleasantry to say.

- Like Marry Christmas or Happy Easter...

I feel a little better, I wish I could have said it better though.

PEACE

PS, something like 21 Vets commit suicide daily.
- Including active military, not just discharged Vets.
- this number is a little dated, but whatever...

well I said my bit, but please let me just also say,

when a vet goes to the typical VA hospital,

say the Audie Murphy Hospital,

they get their diagnosis and are given a prescription.

No problem right ?

Until a few months later they get a letter in the mail say
because they've been prescribed X, they can no longer
own a gun.

Nothing ever disclosed until after the fact.

Let me see if I can find a copy to back myself up.

Now, anyone saying the Government takes care of their Vet is RIGHT,

- they FUCK-Um real good for life.

PEACE

I agree with you, I am a disgruntled vet also, I Love my Country but distrust my government, I served from 4/87-4/92 and have largely suffered in silence as well, VA is certainly not run to help our vets as much as it is to track and process our vets, thank you for your service brother

You are all commie pinko bastards ..
