Quick question on waist measurement - what area exactly is considered "the waist" when measuring? an inch above the navel? At the navel? At the "widest" area?
At my narrowest, I'm about a 32.5 inch waist, and about 34 at my absolute widest. I've been gaining weight in an attempt to gain muscle (surprise) and I find I've gained about an inch to an inch and a half in areas on my waist, and not only is it not attractive, it seems to have been in vain as parts such as my arms (for example) have gotten only .25 of an inch bigger (they're now about 15.5 inches or so flexed, which I'd like to think is pretty decent for my tiny frame. However, At 5'6/5'7 and 160 pounds (very small frame) I'm starting to think that without more time to train harder (time is a luxury alot of us university students don't have) I may not be able to much higher without simply packing on fat (something an ecto isn't supposed to do).
At any rate, my diet I use while lifting was approved months ago by a number of people here, as was my training routine. Bottom line is I'm wondering if I should keep trying to get bigger, or try and thin off what I view (and i could be being picky) as completely useless extra weight.
