I get muscle tech from Sams Club and they offer both. Its quite a bit more expensive to take the isolate and the one bag I purchased I didn't really notice any benefit over the regular whey other than a better taste. Does anyone have experience over a period of time that would indicate isolate is more effective? Thanks in advance.

Makes sense...Good read....

I don't think isolate is any more effective for muscle growth, at least it has never has been for me. I still use isolate just for other reasons.

If I'm buying protein powder I try and buy one that states it's 85% actual protein or more. Which is almost always isolate.

Lately I've been on this fucking blending kick, buying choice lean steaks and blending them with water and sometimes throw in my veggies to get it all over with. Now that's a protein shake

sick cunts

I splurge on the isolate, because it has less calories per serving (higher protein to calorie ratio) and I've been spending an eternity trying to kill this damn belly!

If you KNOW FOR A FACT and they also say its at least 70% protein then sure go for whey, other wise ( and is 99% of the case) go with iso whey! also i would highly rec rice protein, very good amino acid profile.
I now make my own blend:
30% iso whey
40% rice protein
5% soy protein
15% lucine (peptides)
10% bcaa peptides

ill def atleast keep it mainly rice , iso and some lucine. the above is nto tastey due to the 25% peptide stuff, but it is good stuff.

Thanks for the info guys. I might continue making my meal replacements with whey and do post workout shakes with isolate. I have issues buying a bag of isolate every week. :D

I use Isolate to avoid lactose and other allergens. Plus I like the idea that protein concentration will be a higher percent per scoop. In addition, I am wary of food allergies that can develop from repeated uses of the same protein source, so I'd prefer to have less impurities in my protein in case a food allergy might develop.
