I have been doing Body-For-Life over the past 6+ months with pretty amazing results. I've dropped ~30 Lbs and have added a lot of LBM. I have used different charts and calculators and estimate That I've gone from about 20% BF to around 10%. I can finally see my abdominal muscles (the top six/can't quite see the elusive bottom two). I'm kind of sick of the plan and want to make a change. Which of the diets listed in the above sticky (Guide to Cutting and Bulking) have people used with success. The Carb Cycling looks very appealing to me.

When adding EFA's such as Udo's and Fish Oil, what meals do you take them in?

You guys/gals have really put the fire back in me. My goals are to get down to about 6-7% BF. I want to have the physique that makes people on the beach beg for me to put my shirt back on so they don't feel so bad. Thanks!!

What is a refeed? I've read a lot of articles on this site and haven't come across an explanation yet.

Carb Cycling (my favorite)
50/20/30
CKD
DPw8's Female Cutting plans

Refeeds are typically done while cutting (ie. caloric defecit) They are used to raise leptin, refill muscle and liver glycogen and they also provide sanity release from dieting.

Typically a refeed is done every 4-5 days. The lower the caloric deficit and the lower body fat you are the more often the refeed. Average refeed is 1 day where you keep protein around 1G per lb of body weight, you keep fat to 0 and only get whats in your protein and carbs and then you eat a whack load of carbs You should keep fructose to a min though like 50-75G for the day.

Your purpose is actually to Spill over into your fat cells so to raise Leptin.

AV8TOR,

Can you send me more information on this diet you've been on? I'm impressed by your results and may be interested in trying it out. Please let me know your actual meal plans if possible. PM me if it's easier!

Thanks!

I use a low carb/fat diet when cutting. My body does really well eatting lean red meats, but I try to limit those to a few times a week, sticking mainly to chicken or ground turkey. I tend to cut carbs out of my evening meals. I throw in a cheat food every week or two.

ajustana,

Go to http://www.bodyforlife.com/ and you can read all about it. I just went to the book store and bought the book. I followed it to the T, minus all the supplements and got great results. I didn't do the contest, just kept track of things myself (My Pictures, Weights, BF % etc..). It's a very sound program, and the FREE DAY really helps you keep your sanity and motivation. You can literally eat anything and as much as you want 1 day a week. I actually ate ~8300 calories one FREE DAY. Usually, I bet I average around 5000 calories, mostly simple sugars and crap like that. I usually eat a lot of Pizza, Mexican or Italian food. As a matter of fact, tomorrow's the day and I'm already planning on making homemade spaghetti and meatballs with homemade garlic bread. Lots of ice cream to wash it all down. I know it sounds crazy, but this plan has worked for me. If I get a chance, I'll post some before and after photos.

The Body For Life program is a good beginners program. Not the best for more advanced lifters and dieters.

hey av8tor -

I've been on a 40/40/20 since I started getting back in shape back in March. Friday's a refeed AKA cheat day :)

If I've worked my numbers right, in that time I've dropped about 70 lbs (average 1.5 pounds per week) and gained about 20 lbs of lean mass (a little over a half pound a week).

I'm pretty doggone tired of cutting, but I'm only at about 14.5%bf - so I have a little ways to go still.

As far as supp's go -
Glutamine
Creatine
Protein
BCAA's
Multi Vit
Calcium
Flax seed oil
Vit C
Vit E
and some Fat burners.

The thing is - I seem to lose the same amount of weight either on or off the thermogenics.

When I start going the other way - I'll probably keep my P/C/F at the same %'s ... just eat more :)

Peace

I've tried multiple diet programs and must say Carb Cycling produces good results and keeps my sanity level in check regarding carbs.

Carb cycling, CKD. Next cutting phase I'm gonna do a 50/30/20, though.

Peace.

whenever i try dieting or whichever i get weak and burn out at the gym mad fast and feel sick , i dont know how can i prevent that?, and if i eat too much protein my body feels like s***

Did you follow the entire program (workouts, nutrition, etc...)? Or just the dieting portion? Also, is it the "Body For Life" book you bought, or the "Eating For Life" book?

Followed the Body-For-Life program exactly how it was written.

I purchased the Body-For-Life book.
