Who is ALBOB?

Big Smoothy created a thread and I believe it's a great idea. When Robert proposed that I be named a mod my response was that there are a ton of users here who have thousands of posts. Just one of those users is IronMagazine's ALBOB, resident (and self-proclaimed) "IDIOT SAVANT" and possessor of 10,675 posts at this moment!

And so I respect the poster, ALBOB.

I've read many of his posts on this board.

Yes, he has knowledge and strength:

Who are you?

What do you do?

What brought you to IronMagazine Bodybuilding Forums? And perhaps more importantly, what makes you stay?

If I may ask. Inquiring minds, want to know.

Note: Reveal as much or as little as you'd like. My intent is just to learn more about the members of IM without entering into the Stalker Realm.

A sincere tip of the hat to Big Smoothy for initiating this train of thought. I truly hope it catches on. Who would you like to know more about?

he runs a semi-successful washer and dryer rental business in Canada.

and he has 2 first names, and was named after his two also semi-successful business owning uncles...A Chicago shoe salesman Al Bundy, and a Scranton PA entrepreneur Bob Vance of Vance Refrigeration

Who is Albob?......


Charles AlBob, born AlBobo Siciliano (October 30, 1892,[1] Acri, Italy ??? December 23, 1972, Long Beach, New York[2]), was the developer of a bodybuilding method and its associated exercise program that was best known for a landmark advertising campaign featuring AlBob's name and likeness; it has been described as one of the longest-lasting and most memorable ad campaigns of all time.[3]

According to AlBob, he trained himself to develop his body from that of a "scrawny weakling", eventually becoming the most popular muscleman of his day. He took the name "Charles AlBob" after a friend told him he resembled the statue of Al's Beer and Organic Brewery on top of a hotel in Coney Island[2] and legally changed his name in 1922. His company, Charles AlBob Ltd., was founded in 1929 and, as of 2009, continues to market a fitness program for the "97-pound weakling." The company is now owned by Jeffrey C. Hogue.

I have luckily or unluckily met ALBOB in real life. I must say that that first pic DM posted really resembles him.
Other than that, he's a great guy and friend, but he's still gay.
