For us healthy folks, shopping in that goddamn store is like a crack addict walking through a drug factory. :pissed: The wife and I are lucky to get out of there under $100.

Their prices suck, but they have such a nice selection of meats, fish, produce, and snacks. They even have a good selection of beer. They carry ground lamb and venison, which is hard to find.

Anyone else have access to a Whole Foods?

I worked there for a few years. The 20% discount on everything was great. I still go once in a while and yeah you're right, you grab one of the baskets at the entrance, fill it up and you're close to $100.00 easy. Great place to work though, I believe it still in the top 100 companies to work for. The 365 line (generic brand) was probably the only reasonable priced line in the store. Their prepared food section is also great yet expensive. Which one do you usually go to?

20% discount? Sweet! I go to the one in West Hartford, CT.

#5? Wow, I should have stuck around and made a career out of it
Does the one in CT have a specialty section (cheeses, chocolates, Hummus ect.)? Great ideas if you're hosting any type of party i.e. Super Bowl party.

To cut costs down I buy most of my meat direct from an organic farmer in my area- it's way cheaper. Just google organic farmers in your area- if you are a regular consumer of meat it's the way to go- obviously if you buy larger quanities it will save you more. It's a win win situation as you end up supporting local, often small family farms as well as save $$$ because you are buying direct. Vegetables are a bit harder for me during the winter months- because I live in a cold climate. :shake:

My sister refers to them as "Whole Paycheck."

I've heard that one

I used to see a lot of celebrities when I worked there. Drew Bledsoe, Tom Brady, Charlie Weiss, Maria Stephanos (Fox News), Willi McGinest, The Pointer Sisters ( )...off the top of my head.

It's a pretty cool store, but it's ashame it's so damn expensive.

We have whole foods here in AZ but there is another place called Sprouts that is much cheaper and better and it doesn't break the bank. They have specials for $1.99 lb all natural chicken sometimes and I stock up. Same with beef. It's great!

Woohoo! Never knew about this place but I just checked the store locator and there is one two towns over from mine. Going to do a nice shopping on Monday.
