Why can't we eat one big meal in the morning instead of eating throughout the day?

Even if I have a big breakfast, I get hungry again around noon or in the early afternoon. Same around 6pm or 7p. So three meals work well for me.

Some years ago it was recommended to eat even more smaller meals throughout the day, because that was supposed to be healthier, especially if you want to lose weight.

That thinking has basically been reversed and a ?keto diet? has become popular. The idea here is that the body enters a state of ketosis after going without food for a certain period of time. When in ketosis, the body burns fat and you lose weight. Some people do this by eating three meals per day, but eating absolutely nothing - no snacks - outside of mealtimes. Other people don?t eat for longer periods of time, or have breakfast late and dinner early, to take advantage of a long period at night when the body does not get food. That?s called ?intermittent fasting?.

If you had only one meal per day, that would be a lot of intermittent fasting, and could really help weight-loss - assuming you manage to follow through with it, and not grab a chocolate bar here and there during the day.

I can lose weight easily eating five meals a day, it all comes down to calorie and macro management. I have a problem going hypoglycemic if I don't eat often enough so three meals a day is my minimum.

It's okay (Reason: hypoglycemic ) for you, Boss.
My uncle has the same problem. He stay away from simple sugar foods like rice, noodles, and candy. Basically anything that spikes your blood sugar. Pay attention to the foods you eat and stay away from those that make you crash after eating them. In my experience it means your body doesn?t like the surge. Stability is best for your body and everyone around you. Thanks!

In a weight/fat loss diet I plan to consume less calories than you need in order to lose some weight/fat. So for example if you are an average person who burns 2000 calories per day, need to consume less than 2000 calories to lose some weight. Now based on how much weight you want to lose you create a calorie deficit.
