i dont quite understand the physiological cues leading to the feeling of hunger.
Is it a drop in the blood-glucose level or the emptying gastro-instestinal (GI) tract?
the fact that a high fibre diet delay the onset of hunger makes me think that it is the emptying of the GI tract. this is supported by the observation that you stop feeling hungery immediately after you eat, even the nutrient is not digested and absorbed
on the flip side, diabetics always feel hungery despite they eat a lot and thereofore a constantly occupied GI tract. that is becasue they cannot maintain a normal blood-glucose level, and it is the drop of blood-glucose level makes them hungery.
anyone care to comment?
