Why is alcohol legalized?

Although I never tried marijuana, just alcohol. I read about it and it seems, well, to be better than alchohol when you consider side effects. That happens with other drugs as well.

So why alcohol is legalized? It doesn´t make much sense if you think about it. If it is to prohibit drugs, do it with alcohol as well. Oh wait, there is that thing called tax.

No That is exactly what you can´t do. Most drugs that are not legal cannot be taxed because nobody would buy marijuana, they would grow, they would make them. So after a while people would develop a taste for another drug other than alcohol and some people and the government would lose a lot of money.

I am also speaking from the perspective of only Marijuana RG.. not sure what he/she was on, but I usually can function just as good if not better while stoned (I do not have a liscence, and even if I did I would never drive under the influence of anything)

Have you ever learned about prohibition? It is what began organized crime. Bootlegging and rumrunning were the epicenter of organized crime, and it was such a lawless time filled with violence and death that the govt. finally realized that the cost of enforcing it outweighed alcohols negative effects, so they overturned prohibition and started taxing liquor sales.

Weed is not for bums and even bums as you call them are not there because they want or if they are is for a more deep reason, sometimes beyond our understanding. It is a misconception to think all bums are idiots. Some of them are really clever. Some of them were famous and influenced society.
