it has hamstrung this country... it's taken the greatest government in the history of the world and perverted it into the equivalent of a sporting event with each side voting and ranting for their favorite team, liberal or conservative. Political associations aside, and political correctness as well, I will say this... after 9/11, we had to respond, and personally, I would have turned afganistan into a sheet of glass...because we are the last major power in the world, and when you fuck with the bull you get the horns. That never should have been left the way it was, and almost immediately after the conflict was 'resolved' Hussein began ignoring the terms he agreed to, so in my eyes, he was asking for an ass kicking. Now, that being said, what we are doing in Iraq now is ridiculous, the plan should have been this, we go in, capture or kill Hussein and his immediate supporters, and get the fuck out and let the Iraqi's figure out what to do next, but because of politics, we can't do that. We have to fight kinder, gentler wars now and they'll be broadcast on national television. So now, rather than being a pissed off nation with a score to settle, we're 'liberators' and 'peace keepers', that is almost at war within itself because of sports fan mentality. The message should be simple, "Don't fuck with the United States, if you do, we will fuck you up." not, "Please don't make the U.S. bomb your country just so we can rebuild it better for you." That's crap. I don't agree with what Bush has done, but I sure as hell don't agree with the concept of asking people nicely not to hurt us either. So, yes KelJu, I am thinking for myself, I have a lot of respect for this country and more than you can imagine for it's military. I may not agree with what the war has become, but I do think something had to be done....
Like I said before, be against the war all you want, I don't care.
