will reps up to four still build muscle?

in the rest-pause style most definitely (ie DC training, Mentzner Heavy Duty, Mark Dugdale Style)
 
So long as you're eating for size, yes.

I did a program of 3's and put on size before. So long as you are lifting hard any rep range within reason can build muscle.
 
Additional: it will probably also depend slightly on the exercises you're talking about, and the overall volume of the program.

Sure, sets of 3 reps can build muscle, but if you're only doing 1 set then a set of 10 would probably be better.

Dunno who the hell would literally do 1x3 and go home, though ;)
 
5 sets for large muscle groups, 4 reps, 4 minutes rest in between sets of large muscle groups, except bis

keeping at the same weight and forced reps used when i cant get to four reps by myself which normally happens on the second set anyway...???
 
If you are doing your 4 rep max of course you aren't going to get 4 reps the other 4 sets.
 
try and hit 5 reps for 5 sets bro thats 1 more rep and i know dudes that are hugh from that regiment bro
 
I don't think I could grow on sets of four reps (just me). But that doesn't mean someone else can't grow, for me I just don't think I could cause enough hypertrophy with reps that low. I like to keep my reps between 8-15 depending on where I am at in my training cycle.
