Windows Vista PWNS you

I just installed it an hour ago....runs alot smoother...quicker.

That could be because its a fresh install, reinstall XP and you'll find it runs faster and smoother than before as well...I looked at alot of the feature changes some of it is pure useles junk to me, like the Alt-Tab view I have the Alt-Tab Powertoy switcher and it works perfect for me I don't need a visual diplay of my windows, I know what I'm running I just like the little ICONS showing me which prog. I'm choosing! I don't use IE so IE7 is useless, all of the other stuff is just alot of fancy cosmetics, like the Media Center Artisit view and all of the other centers, thats great for NOOBS but I can handle network setup and security on my own thank you they also have 6 other Centers for unnecessary reasons.

I want to know does the legal copy only allow so many hardware changes like XP? Thats the thing I hated most, I love changing shit in my PC, but the restrictions they have told me to tell them to fuck off wankers!

All the stuff that might have been interesting was taken out.

No new FS and such. As fore security, MS is trying to lock out that AV and firewall companies. You'll only have MS to protect you.

i agree, IE is crappy. But vista's IE is pretty much like firefox.


I'm not sure if vista has what your looking for. But when I use xp, I have to search my motherboard on intel's website to get all the latest drivers + sound + network and others controllers to work. With vista, all drivers are updated.


I was skeptical, I hate beta shit. But so far I'm liking it, the cosmetics make it a new OS alltogether.

Really? It'll have extensions? I can block ad? Control how PDFs are handled? It'll have integrated web developer tools? I can remove unwanted items on the page before I print?

Not even close.

I doubt it'll even have themes.

It does have an ad blocker. Now with tabs like firefox.

I'm not sure if it has the other stuff you listed, but it looks like they 'borrowed' many ideas from competitng web browsers, so maybe.

But I browsed quit a bit of porn and pirate type sites, not popups yet.


Try Vista out....download under 30 mins. Install it with dual boot, that way if you don't like it....you can still go back.

A popup blocker is not an ad blocker. An ad blocker remove the advertising banners and image form the page.

I let other saps do the beta testing, then I upgrade when the software works properly. I hate microsoft.
Visual Studio 2005 is so buggy, I have already found atleast 10 bugs in it. SQL Server 2005 trashed my professors online DB query practice system.

Actually RC 1 could be one of many builds, the newest as of when I got it was 5278.


You aren't using Aero if your machine can't handle it...at best your using vista basic gui.

I still prefer XP, but I wanted the DX11 support which was never going to be created for it, so I got Win7.

Same reason I don't use Linux - I want better DX support than wine or Cedega can give.

It is faster and networking is a breeze, I had a problem networking between Vista and XP, I then tried networking XP with Windows 7 and it was easy.
That made my mind up.

I don't understand. The issue was Vista, not XP. Why not stick with XP?
I love XP. I will use at least for another few years. I have free copies of vista and 7, and I had to wipe my drive after a month of either.
